Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:00 KEE 1st CRAZY LEGS HIRSCH (#3, 8-1) is an interesting horse. He's a 7yo who made his first 39 starts in sprints. Last October, he was stretched out to routes and found a home in that kind of race: In fast-track two-turn starts the gelding is 3-3. Well below his best last time, but that was six weeks ago and for a different trainer. This one, S Panagiotis, with his last nine horses racing after being claimed has gone 3-3-3, and one of the wins came last fall at Keeneland with a horse named The Gatekeeper. Seems like the value here. - Marcus Hersh 1:53 AQU 2nd LAND D'ORO (#3, 7-2) faced a good field going this distance on debut and wound up getting shuffled back in that race as others got the jump on his with runs in the clear; well-bred colt improved last time when keeping a strong pace within range and then staying gamely to close it down; Clement 4 for his last 10 (40%) with last-out maiden winners routing on dirt ($5.42 ROI). - Mike Beer 2:04 KEE 3rd TOFFEE APPLE (#6, 30-1) in her debut showed she has some ability - I'll put the two subsequent races, both poor, down to a dislike of the synthetic surface only made manifest after she'd run over it once. The pedigree is all turf route and quite good. - Marcus Hersh 2:22 LRL 5th MEDAGOOCH (#1, 4-1) (1,050 lbs. on 4/7; +5 from last start) might have aimed too high in first out of the maiden ranks when wired in a slow-paced allowance. Saved ground at the back, eased off the inside, then finished evenly behind the three chalks. Seems a better fit entered for the tag. - Dan Illman 2:44 OP 3rd CHURCH SERVICE (#8, 5-1) exits a race that went quite quick. The start should have her sharp for the move back to two turns, site of some of her best efforts. - Mary Rampellini 3:30 AQU 5th IMAGE OF QUALITY (#3, 15-1) was a big price when winning on debut over Woodbine's synthetic track last summer but ran better than it may appear that day while overcoming stretch traffic to win easily; not sure what the story was emerging from that turf debut when last seen but he never appeared to get down to serious business in that race while just finishing evenly under no urging; bred for this surface and might be able to do a lot better if something was amiss in that last one. - Mike Beer 4:12 KEE 7th Canisy was making those leads last year on very, very slow paces - I'm calling GIRL NAMED CHARLIE (#8, 12-1) the controlling pace of this race as she stretches out to 9f with Dynaformer on the bottom side of her pedigree. She'll need to improve on the two FG stakes runs to take advantage of a favorable setup, but that's not out of the question. - Marcus Hersh 4:34 AQU 7th MIDNIGHT MILE (#1, 2-1) ran well when shipped here to run at the Breeders' Cup as a 2yo; didn't quite class up with the better 3yo fillies in Europe last year but she looked good winning a stake at York in the summer; appears to be properly spotted for a trainer who has a strong record overall with imports on turf. - Mike Beer 4:50 GP 8th PERHAPS TONIGHT (#5, 9-2) is a hard trier that strings four races together. Isn't she better on the grass though? The Drexler barn is a solid 18% going synth to turf and they just miss a flat bet profit. We like how this horse faced a full field on the class jump and again ran well but this time at 16-1. Was that the last time for a good price? Double digits...probably, but still a decent price today. - Scott Ehlers 4:54 OP 7th The multiple stakes winner OUR LAST CHANCE (#8, 10-1) launched his season last out with a credible fourth in a quick allowance. The winner of the race is bound for the Grade 1 Churchill Downs, according to his trainer, Lukas. - Mary Rampellini 6:03 SA 5th Stakes-placed three times, N1X winner last out, TAMBO (#7, 3-1) enters with a seasoning and class advantage in this open allowance for 3yo sprint fillies. She faced good company and ran well every dirt sprint; her only off-the-board finish was a turf route. Outside post suits her versatile pressing style. - Brad Free  7:06 SA 7th Back from Turf Paradise where he finished a no-excuse third (his early "trouble" was minimal), DUAL THREAT (#8, 5-1) ran two of the best races of his career at Santa Anita early this winter finishing second and third. A potentially quick pace scenario benefits his closing style. - Brad Free
