DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, April 20, 2025

DRF Staff|Apr 20, 2025
Gulfstream Park dirt racing, 2018
Barbara D. Livingston First post for Gulfstream racing is scheduled for 12:50 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

2:21 GP 4th OSHALA (#5, 8-1) was stuck on the rail in her debut as a 4YO and then broke 6th yet won nonetheless (at 25-1). Connections find a logical spot to face first time winners. This filly gets a soft pace to chase once again and team Moubarak is 29% with horses that won their last race. A pair of recent works is just right. – Scott Ehlers

4:24 GP 8th WRIGLEYVILLE (#6, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers).

5:28 GP 10th BECKETT'S MAP (#6, 15-1) is by an 11% debut sire and an 11% debut turf sire. Her dam went 15-2-3-2 for 98K (56K on the grass). Lone sib is 17-0-0-0 (seven turf starts). Works are plentiful and well-spaced. This barn is 1 for 1 with maidens debuting at a mile or more (paid $12.20). They are 19% with 1st time starters and 21% with first turfers. Full field helps all exotics. – Scott Ehlers

6:10 SA 7thAlthough he has not raced since July, and has never faced older, four-time stakes winner ENDLESSLY (#4, 9-2) gets the call to win his comeback. The good-looking 4yo has worked well for his return, and he runs well fresh (debut winner, layoff winner last year). He will need to improve off last year's form, and chances are he will with age and maturity. But it also is possible the 5-for-8 colt might be rusty off the layoff, but he seems like the type that could develop into a top older turf horse. This Grade 3 turf mile is his first step in that direction. – Brad Free

7:10 SA 9th TIME TO SHINE (#4, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free).
