Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:40 LRL 1st It might be too early to give up on BARB THE BOSS (#1, 5-1) who failed to threaten for $25,000 in career debut (sixth-finisher returned to win for $16,000 with a 35 Beyer). Broke well but was outsprinted despite the slow fractions and never got involved. That was a good learning experience and she has some angles dropping to the bottom, adding blinkers and stretching out in distance. FEEL THE GLORY might be the one to catch and beat after facing two next-out winners (Dial Me Maybe returned to win for $12,500 at Penn National with a 28 Beyer). Figures prominently when they turn into the long stretch. PARTY MONSTER disappointed last time out, but she gave a better try two starts back. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  1:05 GP 1st BALL LIGHTNING (9, 6-1) in new hands since latest and dropping to what may be her softest spot yet. Not badly beaten in Tampa finale in a race flattered when top pair both returned to capture next starts while Beyering 74 and 72 in the process. Not facing that kind here. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  1:15 LRL 2nd RAVENEL (#5, 9-2) double-drops in class seeking first victory since the spring of 2020. Broke a beat slow last time, then saved ground at the back over a speed-friendly track in a race dominated throughout by the top-two finishers (Shackaboom returned to run second in a $12,000 starter with a 62 Beyer). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  1:32 KEE 2nd ECLIPSED (#4, 8-1) will have to take some dirt breaking from the inside in a race with several faster early, but she did that and showed a willingness to pass on the inside in her $50K maiden-claiming win two back at FG. Runner-up returned to win a $50K MCL of her own and the drop to $20K N2L claiming here after one N1X allowance try seems fine. Homebred was in for $30K before and winner's share of this purse is nearly $20,000. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  1:46 TAM 4th One more shot for MIAMI CHROME (#8, 8-1), who ran well in defeat on a couple of occasions in the midst of that streak where he somehow finished fifth six straight times; no threat last time when 4th but the lack of pace in that field hampered him, and he should have no such problems here with a couple of established speeds drawn inside. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  2:29 OP 2nd NUGGET OF GRACE (#8, 7-2) shortens up a tad in distance after a nice effort over a mile and an eighth. He has an age edge on some of these as he is 4. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race  2:43 GP 4th THINKABOUTIT (#3, 6-1) had some trouble after the start when facing this same kind last time. Working well since that outing, might offer some value at his best. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  2:52 AQU 4th MIDASWELLRUN (#2, 6-1) found the right spot last time and also got the right ride en route to breaking his maiden with another new Beyer top; can race effectively from off the pace and is a threat right back off the claim for Rudy - first after claimed by, dirt, route: 28 for his last 93, 30%, $2.26 ROI. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  3:08 KEE 5th BIZZEE CHANNEL (#6, 6-1) was over the top when he raced on the KEE grass course last fall, but he goes well enough on the turf here and with a better trip would have won an N3X allowance on 10/17/20. Obviously fast and classy enough as he defeated Two Emmys in the Arlington Stakes last summer before that gelding went on to win the G1 Mr. D in August and the G2 Muniz Memorial just two weeks ago. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race 3:30 LRL 6th MUTASALLEM (#4, 9-2) has questions to answer as he last raced on April 24, 2021, was listed as a vet scratch at Belmont on June 4, and now returns from a 351-day layoff for new connections. Both dirt races were solid as he was wired by eventual Peter Pan winner Promise Keeper in debut before finishing behind next-out Wood Memorial runner-up (89 Beyer) Dynamic One. As a son of Belmont Stakes winner Union Rags out of a half-sister to Dubai World Cup winner Alumtawakel, it's possible this sprint is a prep for something longer. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 4:20 TAM 9th LION CHARMER (#5, 12-1) may well be the controlling speed in the finale, which is hardly loaded with speed, which was certainly not the case in some of his recent tries; if he can get clear and dictate a mild pace for the first time this year he may well get brave and steal this. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  4:27 AQU 7th Wish REIGNING CHICK (#1, 5-1) was by a better turf sire, but she is a half-sister to seven-time turf winner Outrageous Bet and is interesting here if she can handle the surface switch; looked good winning her debut after wide move, then ran pretty well to finish third in the Busanda on the stretch out; isn't facing a bunch of killers here as she tries her available condition. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 4:51 GP 8th RHYMES LIKE DIMES (#4, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race  5:01 AQU 8th FROST POINT (#3, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race  5:32 AQU 9th CAPE COD CAUSEWAY (#7, 8-1) debuted over this course in December and looked a bit green in that spot while winding up own inside in the stretch, before eventually getting out into the clear late to race on; turf-bred filly can take the necessary step forward here as she returns to the proper surface off the bench. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  5:55 GP 10th LADY MACARENA (#13, 8-1) poorly drawn outside but working well for local bow and should prove good fit for this tag. Handled turf well enough to suggest Tapeta may not be an issue. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
