Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:57 PIM 2nd WATCH OUT WORLD (#10, 6-1) boasts a solid pedigree. His sire was a Grade 1 winner on dirt and turf, and has gotten off to a good start with his turf progeny. The dam won three turf sprints (80 turf Beyer). That dam is a half to stakes-placed turf sprinter Dendrobia (79 turf Beyer). -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:01 PIM 4th FUTURE IS NOW (#12, 8-1) looked good winning debut on turf. Bumped at the start, she went up to duel outside 13-1 shot Band Leader (finished fourth), put that one away, then always had a bit more to deny the rallying longshot. Caught up in a fast duel over a closer-friendly dirt track second-time out, and like her getting back to the lawn for barn that went 7 for the last 23 (30%, $3.30 ROI) moving dirt to turf. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:23 GP 4th NO DELIBERATION (#1, 6-1) is two for two on this synthetic so returning here after a couple tries in Jersey figures welcome. He has speed to be in it from the start but is no need-the-lead type and he drops for this return as well. -Michael Hammersly | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:32 PIM 5th SWEET GRACIE (#4, 8-1) won here during the spring meet, then ran better than it looks in the Dashing Beauty at Delaware (wired by Alva Starr over a speed-friendly track; that one returned to earn a 98 Beyer winning Saratoga's Grade 2 Prioress). Didn't have much of a chance against some of these on 8/6 as she chased the gate-to-wire winner's slow pace while wide over an inside, speed-favoring surface. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:42 BAQ 6th WAY TO BE MARIE (#3, 15-1) looked good breezing 21.1 prior to selling for $95k in April; there is plenty of class on the bottom of this pedigree and Not This Time is an underrated turf sire; Atras capable with first-time starters. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:57 WO 6th TUNECHI (#4, 20-1) has worked well since dusting maidens on the main course in his first turf assignment July 23, from which current rival Western Whirl exited to graduate with a 67 Beyer. He could make some noise as a longshot in this wide open G1 fixture that's a Breeders' Cup Win and You're in qualifier. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:06 PIM 8thLooking for a price with UNRULY JULIE (#5, 30-1), who finally put it all together last time out at Colonial. Pressed the early lead outside, pulled hard entering the backstretch, made a clear lead at the three-eighths, then stayed to her task in the stretch. She obviously has to improve in order to beat this tougher field, but she's in form and seems adaptable to the race flow. -Dan Illman | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:14 BAQ 7th THUNDERIAN (#1, 6-1) got untracked too late and just missed when back on dirt two back at Saratoga; was up in class for that last one but ran well once again in a race that was dominated up close; back in form and protected this time while stretching out to a distance he can handle. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:07 WO 8th READY TO JAM (#8, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:35 CBY 2nd HAP HOT (#1, 8-1) is by a 1 for 10 debut turf sire. His dam went 5-0-1-4 on the green for 14K. Of 7 sibs to try the green, 4 won with another 2 having hit the board. This gelding drew the rail going 6 1/2 furlongs in his most recent and that had to hurt. He draws the rail again but that won't hurt nearly as much when going five furlongs on the turf. His turf Tomlinson hints at grass ability at 347. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:53 BAQ 10th KING'S DAUGHTER (#3, 10-1) is a newcomer by excellent turf influence Cairo Prince from the Colt's Neck female family of Grade 1 turf winner Force the Pass; trainer can have a firster ready and this filly might get a bit overlooked in this spot. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:35 CBY 4th SWEET ANALYZER (#4, 8-1) tried the turf for the first time two back and was right there with a furlong to go before tiring some late. He switched to a dirt sprint in his most recent and beat over half the field home all from the rail. We like Hernandez up and this horse should be a good price. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:54 WO 11th HADDASSAH (#6, 10-1) ran third behind the future stakes winner Palazzi and sharp next-out winner Malibu Mambo two back, and had a three-wide trip when third while dropping to this level most recently. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:28 MED 2nd SHE TAKES CASH (#6, 8-1) is out of a dam who won five races, all of them on the grass, and this filly sports a couple of works that suggest she has some ability; may be overlooked some in the wagering. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:33 HST 6th I'm going to go against the grain and head to DIOCLES (#5, 7-2) in this years rendition of the JD Futurity. This 2-yr old gelding out of the very strong BC bred mare, My Special Angel, seems to be primed and ready for a big effort. Give him a pace to run at and I think that he'll do just that. -Lisa Russell | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:35 CBY 8th PLANE TALK (#7, 10-1) goes third off the layoff and draws outside. He has a ton of speed and drops into state-breds even if this is a stakes. Gallardo gets a leg up and is 24% for this barn locally. This gelding gets more time between races than many of these and in fact two foes are returning in seven days (do they declare out?). Works are perfect. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:20 MED 6th STARRYSTARRYKNIGHT (#10, 10-1) is widest, and he was off the pace in his latest, but he may be quickest of them all out of the gate if he's ridden aggressively early, especially with the addition of blinkers for this race; should be a square price. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:59 RP 5th STOCKPILER (#6, 9-2) draws an improved post over his last start, when second for this price at Louisiana Downs. -Mary Rampellini | Bet this race with DRF Bets
10:35 CBY 12th EL ENCANTO (#10, 8-1) got some play in his debut and ran evenly before tiring late. All things considered, it was a solid debut. What if that turf debut gives this colt more stamina today? We like that he has worked since said debut. A better price than some we would think. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
