DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Saturday, November 27, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
11:50 AQU 1st INEVTABL CONECTION (#5, 8-1) flashed good early speed in his debut back at Saratoga over a sloppy track, and just failed to hold on over favored Big Scully, who already had racing experience; Klesaris 10 for his last 41 second-time starting maidens (24%, $2.76 ROI), including a win here last week. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:55 WO 1st HIT AND RUN (#1, 6-1) got away slowly before racing wide over an inside-favoring track in her subpar showing at this NW3 level Nov. 4. She could track all the speed in this shorter sprint before making what could be a winning bid. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:38 TAM 3rd MARIMBA (#3, 5-1) has modest but steady figures and she should get faster early splits than she was getting at Gulfstream, including that last one, a five-furlong dash which featured very slow fractions; takes the blinkers off for the first time for Dennis Manning, who wins at a good rate in all pertinent trainer categories. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:45 AQU 5th BELLE BELISA (#5, 6-1) was the lone firster in that field when finding a good finish to close down maidens over a tough distance on debut, after which she got in over her head in the Virginia Oaks; did not get a particularly good ride last time when waiting too long to make her run and coming up short, though she did have trouble at the start which left her out of position. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:52 LRL 4th M. J.'S LADY (#7, 15-1) won her third career start and might be racing back into form as she goes third following an 84-day layoff. Outrun through some fast fractions when dropped to this level earlier in the month, split rivals turning for home and finished evenly with a good gallop-out. Figures a square price for low-profile connections. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:08 TAM 4th JO JO KATZ (#10, 12-1) very likely would have won his grass debut at the Meadowlands if he hadn't been forced to check, and he was moving strongly through the lane there in an effort that suggests he's a new horse on the lawn; can make the last run at a price here given a clean trip. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:43 AQU 7th GRAND SONATA (#5, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:51 LRL 6th AWESOME GERRY (#2, 6-1) tried to rally from last in a slow-paced Gallant Bob that was won in pace-pressing fashion by one of the fastest sprinters in the world. Still finished ahead of Beren, who returned to win a state-bred stake at Penn National with a 90 Beyer before placing second in the Steel Valley Sprint at Mahoning with an 87. Two back, he attempted an outside bid going two turns over a rail-friendly Charles Town surface. He's been put in some tough spots, but has some speed, and adds Lasix and blinkers for this. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:22 LRL 7th BELLE OF THE NORTH (#1, 10-1) was pinched a bit leaving the gate and fell far behind in first start against winners. Received a nice ground-saving ride into the turn, split horses, then angled back inside with a solid late kick to finish second to undefeated Moquist (returned to win an allowance with an 81 Beyer). Lightly-raced filly still has plenty of upside potential and recent bullet workout allays fears of a bounce. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:38 TAM 7th MASTERING BELA (#6, 7-2) was a strong third when last seen, closing late in an abbreviated sprint that was lacking in early speed; she scored two back at Colonial at this distance, beating Tilsa, who returned to score in her next start at Parx. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:05 WO 7th SIR SEAMUS (#6, 9-2) rode a golden rail to a close fifth last time in a second-level optional claimer, earning an 88 Beyer in the process. His tactical speed should come in handy in this much easier $20K starter handicap. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:13 AQU 10th TURNED ASIDE (#6, 6-1) shaped with plenty of early potential and seemed to be set to be a force in this division after dominating this race last November with a 102 Beyer to close out his 3yo campaign; did not run well in his first three starts for new connections upon his return - though there were some excuses - but he seemed to get back on track last time when just missing in an improved performance; rated for a tracking spot in that last one but he can get more aggressive early this time. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:22 LRL 9th ISABELLA'S MAGIC (#2, 8-1) looms an intriguing shipper after racing in traffic at Finger Lakes earlier in the month. Broke a beat slow, was in and among horses entering the turn, altered course off the rail in the stretch, then finished with some interest while never truly clear. The winner of that race returned to finish third in a state-bred allowance with a 66 Beyer. Seems like a nice fit returning to the circuit at the bottom level. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:12 WO 9th MARAIS (#7, 8-1) is back in peak form after running two dull races in October, and could win this starter allowance despite competing on short rest, bar shoes and all. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:35 RP 2nd HEADEDTOTHESTARS (#5, 6-1) ran a fine second last out in his first start since July and would seem to have reason to move forward in his second race back. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:03 RP 3rd PICKLE SNAPPER (#2, 6-1) draws an improved post over his last start. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
11:23 RP 8th DEANOS CAPE (#2, 5-1) is back on dirt, site of his best career Beyer Speed Figures. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
