Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action. 12:40 MTH 1st CROWNEDCOUNTCRISTO (#7, 8-1) is an upgrade candidate after trying to come from of the pace in his latest, a race that lacked pace and thus favored the speeds (note the bold "S" in DRF pp line); earned a competitive figure in that seasonal debut nonetheless and he can make the last run in this opener if he gets a clean trip and an honest pace. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 12:50 GP 1st CARSOWN (#1, 12-1) caught a monster field in his debut, the race producing trio of next out graduates. Takes big plunge while switching to turf at second asking. Has some breeding for the turf. Worth a look at what might be a little price for meet's top conditioner. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  1:02 BEL 2nd SON OF A BIRCH (#5, 20-1) returned from the long layoff to get the maiden win in a race rained off the grass last time and it wasn't that surprising that he handled the main track considering his pedigree; wasn't close at the end of either of his turf starts as a 2yo, though he might have run better than it looks both times; was away slowing in the sprint debut, before receiving a passive ride and passing horses late; got engaged on strong pace when stretched out for his second start and paid the price. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 1:11 MTH 2nd PORTAGE (#4, 15-1) stretches out after sprinting in her career bow, a race where she lost her best chance when she hesitated at the start, and she should appreciate the added distance; the dam was best sprinting but produced Have At It, who won the Grade 2 Hill Prince going long, albeit on turf, and this filly's works in the interim suggest she'll improve in her second career start. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 1:19 GP 2nd RADIANT GEM (#7, 6-1) a new face to this category. Ducked out at the break, got hung every step facing a bit better last time, tailing off a bit from Beyer perspective from all three previous tries. Expecting improvement for this tag. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race 1:34 BEL 3rd FRONT MAN (#2, 12-1) landed in a very live race in his return from the layoff last year (five next-out winners from that race), then moved up in class after closing down restricted claimers in his next start; lands in a field that came up pretty strong for the level but he is a bit underrated and should be a fair price; just need a little pace. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  1:41 MTH 3rd ANNIKA GOLD (#4, 15-1) is an 11-time winner who meets a field comprised largely of horses with two career victories, as this beaten claimer is for non-winners of two races lifetime or for horses who haven't won in six months; stretches out and has license to take a step forward if she can sit just off a contested pace. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 2:40 WO 4th KIDDIE HOLIDAY (#3, 6-1) had a troubled trip before closing for third behind a good next-out winner last out in a $10K claimer at Gulfstream. This third start of his form cycle could be even better with the barn's go-to jock Husbands getting the call. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 3:05 LAD 1st REBECCA G (#4, 6-1) ran OK in her two return tries but was hooked every step in both. Now she goes third off the layoff and finds a spot with very little pace. An early breather would go a long way and this filly drops in class. Second time this dirt is another plus. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race 3:05 BEL 6th BLAME IT ON PARIS (#6, 8-1) faced a talented filly going a mile on debut in a race that was rained off the grass; didn't run poorly at all after some early trouble when getting on turf in her next start, also over a mile, then missed time; back to turf third off the layoff, this time sprinting on the drop. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 3:13 WO 5th TAPROOM (#4, 10-1) worked impressively from the gate twice and should be dangerous if she gets away alertly in this field chock-full of first-timers. She has the same connections as last year's Canadian champion 2yo filly Cairo Consort. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 3:41 BEL 7th SEIZE THE CITY (#6, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race 4:23 GP 8th DELTA RISING (#8, 8-1) one of a handful in here taking big class drops. Shows up on Lasix and as a new gelding since finishing troubled third to $50K tag last fall. Working well enough to suggest he's primed for good one off the bench. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race 4:58 GP 9th TALKIN TIPSY (#2, 10-1) should offer some value in this full and well-matched field of FM turf sprinters. On the improve, not badly beaten by likely favorite CHOOSE JOY in their previous meeting despite checking into turn, fanning extremely wide with her bid entering stretch. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race 5:21 WO 9th CURLIN CANDY (#2, 10-1) has worked well for her first outing since a fading fifth in a seven-furlong N1X in December. The nicely-bred daughter of Curlin and champion Caren should be prominent with her tactical speed under Wilson, who broke her maiden. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  6:34 GP 12th HARRY TIME (#7, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race  7:45 GG 5th RESPOND (#5, 9-2) nearly recorded a 14-1 upset in his Golden Gate debut in $12,500 claimer at 5 1-2 furlongs on April 8 in what has turned out to be a productive race. Winner Irish Royalty returned to win again on April 28 as did third-place finisher Chilly Willy on May 7. Respond raced for the first time since December on April 8 and fits this starter allowance condition well. He should have a pace to follow from Irish Corn, who starts from the rail. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
