Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:35 BAQ 1st HANG TIGHT (#4, 15-1) needs some pace to develop in order to have his best chance and there appears to be a chance that he will get a setup in this spot; had little chance over a speed-favoring track two back, and his recent form is otherwise solid; will be a price for a trainer who is underrated off the claim with dirt horses. -Mike Beer 12:56 PIM 2nd SUN STREAMING (#5, 15-1) tries turf for the first time, and her dam connected on three occasions over the lawn (78 Beyer top). That dam is a full sister to stakes-placed turf router Ian Smith (80 turf Beyer). The second dam's lone victory came on turf (83 Beyer top), and there are lots of European grass influences deeper in the female family. This pace should be solid, and she can kick on in the lane. Trainer-jockey combo scored with first-time turf performer El de Larry (28-1 odds) at Laurel on 4/17. -Dan Illman  1:27 PIM 3rd UNCLE IRISH (#1, 8-1) was hustled out of there to track a slow pace while three wide, raced three deep and in between on the second turn, then failed to threaten a sharp winner that returned to take a second-level allowance with a 90 Beyer. He has good form over this track, and boasts enough speed to make the lead heading into the first turn. -Dan Illman  1:34 BAQ 3rd BREAK THE FALL (#7, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer).  1:52 MTH 3rd NO TRICKS (#7, 9-2) is kin to three starters, all of them winners, including Rockefeller, who won his own debut as a 2-year-old, as well as the Grade 3 Nashua Stakes; this filly has been training steadily toward her debut for trainer Jorge Duarte Jr., who is four-for-eight ($7.05 ROI) with 1sters in MSW races on the dirt at Monmouth since 2019 (stats accessible via DRF Formulator, available at DRF.com). -Kenny Peck 2:20 MTH 4th WINNING FACTOR (#5, 4-1) has speed and can also rate, and that's an important consideration given the uncertain race flow of this turf route; he may be quick enough to shake loose in the opening stages, as there's not a lot of proven speed in this field, and he can steal it if he's able to get clear with relative ease and back down the fractions. -Kenny Peck  2:40 GP 4th BELTS 'N BROOKS (#7, 8-1) in good hands off the claim. Did not get the best of trips, likely bounced last time returning on 10 days rest off far and away a career best performance winning his N3L condition on 4/11. Should take advantage of what figures to be a sharp pace in this one. -Mike Welsch  2:52 WO 4th SILENT MIRACLE (#6, 12-1) dropped back and failed to fire after being steadied along the inside heading into the turn in his 5 1/2-furlong comeback last Sunday. He's better suited to the seven-furlong distance of this $25K claimer and could rebound while being reunited with Munger, who won twice on him last year. -Ron Gierkink  2:59 PIM 6th BURNINGUPTHEDOUGH (#4, 8-1) set a reasonable pace outside 9-2 Irish Bandit (finished third), opened up a clear lead on the turn, then drove home to best a solid group (fourth-finisher then took a $12,500 "two-life" seller by 7 1/4 lengths with a 72 Beyer). Might have to work harder to set the pace against this field, but he doesn't necessarily need the lead to succeed. -Dan Illman  3:08 BAQ 6th NATIVE LAND (#8, 12-1) lacks the stakes credentials that his main rivals have in this Peter Pan, though he appears to be improving through racing and exits back-to-back impressive efforts while handling lesser rivals; the potential is there and he might go overlooked in this spot. -Mike Beer  3:39 BAQ 7th OHANA HONOR (#1, 6-1) had an easy time of things on the lead when handling added distance last time at Keeneland; that effort is hard to get too excited about due to the dynamics, but his prior turf form was also excellent despite not always getting lucky in the trip department; steps up with a versatile running style and is unlikely to get bet too hard off the win last time. -Mike Beer  3:52 WO 6th ARCTIC BLONDE (#6, 15-1) had a wide trip after missing the break before landing on the edges when going three-quarters at first asking in December. She's been working right along and could do some damage as a longshot in this seven-furlong event. -Ron Gierkink  4:04 PIM 8th YOU CAN'T WIN (#1, 6-1), the field's lone two-time winner thanks to being put up via disqualification at Charles Town last month, drew well with the tactical speed to get close to the pace. Tracked in between horses in that last race, attacked three wide on the turn, then couldn't get by the pacesetter in the stretch. -Dan Illman  4:45 GG 1st The first-time starter CARLSBADGAL (#2, 5-1) will have a target in the speedy DREWY and a stalking trip may lead to a win for Carlsbadgal in this $25,000 claimer for maiden 3-year-old fillies at 5 1-2 furlongs. Carlsbadgal has had a few decent five-furlong workouts in the last month for trainer O.J. Jauregui, who has had success with debut runners in the last year. -Steve Andersen  5:01 MTH 9th With a good amount of speed signed on for this sprint, a closer like SUMMER'S COMIN (#7, 6-1) should be able to take full advantage; she's coming off a seemingly dull effort at Tampa but that was her first start off a layoff more than three months, a slow start cost her early position, and she's now facing statebreds. -Kenny Peck  5:52 GP 10th Lots of promising looking youngsters trying to punch their ticket to Ascot in finale. CLASSY WAR (#4, 12-1) and mate Garden of War both looked impressive working over Palm Meadow sod in company for this, better drawn of duo for the occasion. Half to one grass winner. -Mike Welsch  8:02 GG 7th The lightly-raced gelding MACLEAN'S RHYME (#9, 8-1) is improving for trainer Steve Sherman. Maclean's Rhyme was a good third in his 2024 turf debut in a race at this level on April 12, a $12,500 claimer for non-winners of two at a mile, and has worked well since that race. He has the outside post in a field of nine, which will force new jockey Frank Alvarado to save some ground. With only four starts, Maclean's Rhyme has greater appeal than some rivals who seem stuck at this level. -Steve Andersen
