Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:48 GP 4th GOLDEN TONE (#2, 6-1) is a possible speed horse going second time turf all for trainer Jane Cibelli who is 20% on the grass. Need more? This horse is a first time gelding that puts the blinkers ON and has a solid turf Tomlinson of 309. Other speed won’t dissuade us. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race 1:50 TAM 4th MERICATHEBEAUTIFUL (#1, 8-1) jumped up and ran a big race in her turf debut last time but while the surface switch certainly could be the reason for the improved try she also was an upgrade candidate after racing against the flow in each of her prior three starts; dangerous here with a clean trip from the rail and an honest pace up front. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 2:22 TAM 5th TIO BLAS (#1, 8-1) is easy to like off that near-miss in his latest under these same conditions and he now makes his third start off the layoff; likely to be tough here if he can simply run to that last one, and that surely seems plausible if he can work out a clean trip from the rail. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 2:35 PIM 5th RUNNERS DREAM (#11, 6-1) broke well in career debut, battled two others for the lead while down inside and was the first to back out of that pace duel. Although the daughter of stakes-winning dirt sprinter Bamboo Dream was listed as a vet scratch at Laurel on April 11, her speed should play well dropping to the maiden claiming level for the first time. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  3:24 OP 5th UPSTRIKER (#2, 10-1), who was an impressive debut winner last summer, brings some interesting company lines to the table. He was fourth in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity at Kee behind Essential Quality, Keepmeinmind and Super Stock - who are all scheduled to run in the Kentucky Derby. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race 3:58 PIM 7th Trainer Kieron Magee strikes while the iron is hot with EXTRA MEDIUM (#1, 7-2), who benefited from a patient Carol Cedeno ride to win here last week. He found pocket position behind a slow pace, waited in behind foes at the three-sixteenths, then burst through an open seam in between horses to gamely score along the inside. Must step up into open claimers, but has the tactical speed to stay close to the expected moderate pace. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 4:11 LAD 2nd LOOKING HOT (#3, 6-1) ran better two and four back and that bodes well for today. We know that two turns is best for this filly and that makes perfect sense as her distance Tomlinson is 372. Fair Grounds shipper did catch off tracks 1 and 3 back. Open foes versus recent state-breds doesn’t make that big a difference here. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race  4:31 PIM 8th DR. FERBER (#1, 9-2) might have aimed a bit too high in his first start out of the maiden ranks as he faced three next-out winners including Shackled Love (80 Beyer in the Private Terms Stakes). Fell far behind and was one-paced against those horses, but should appreciate today’s class relief and might stay a bit closer stretching out around two turns from the rail draw. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 4:37 GP 9th ALL AROUND (#, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race 4:45 TAM 9th MARKET (#11, 5-2) failed his turf test last time out but he’s back on the main track and he lands in a race where his Beyers make him a serious threat; wide post no bargain but he has the speed to get position from the start, and there’s not an abundance of pace in this field. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 5:07 GP 10th GLORY OF FLORIDA (#8, 10-1) might trip out best if all the speed stays in. He draws the attack post for the distance and has done all of his winning on this dirt. Best efforts of late came 2 and 4 back which bodes well for today. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race 5:09 OP 8th COUSIN LARRY (#4, 6-1) moves back to a mile and a sixteenth and the last time he raced at the trip he was just edged and put up a career-high Beyer Speed Figure. He could get a decent setup as there appears to be some speed in this spot. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race  5:15 TAM 10th CURLEE FOX (#2, 3-1) makes his first start against winners but he’s capable of repeating despite the class rise if he’s able to run back to that maiden win, which resulted in a Beyer that puts him right in the middle of this; he was off the board in his prior start when on the front end but he had no chance to last there after dueling for the lead through swift early fractions, and he could well shake loose in the opening stages of this nightcap. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 5:37 GP 11th CULTURED (#1, 8-1) was stuck in the 10 hole in her debut and if that wasn’t bad enough it was two turns on the turf. Wow, what a tough spot and against a good field of special weights. All this filly did was win at 22-1 after breaking slow. This filly draws tons better and could easily improve second time turf, racing, and two turns. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race 5:55 LAD 6th IMMORTAL (#5, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race 6:22 SA 6th Blinkers might be precisely what MAHAAMEL (#10, 5-1) needs to win this maiden-75 turf mile with a front-running/pace-pressing trip in his third U.S. start. He has speed, but for some reason did not show it last out when he was rated behind the pace and merely ran around the course while the front-runners dominated. The addition of blinkers suggests he will be asked for gas from the outside post. There really is not much speed in this field; color him gone. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
