DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Saturday, June 4, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:44 WO 2nd ALLEN DIGGS (#3, 8-1) got the dreaded Beyer donut in his dismal debut on the Tapeta after working well. He deserves a mulligan here on the grass, a surface that he's bred to handle, and note that Kimura is giving him another chance. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:45 LAD 1st ALYS EPISODE (#3, 6-1) finished 2nd on this sod the last two times she tried the green even though she was DQ'd from one of them. She caught the mud in her return try and got very little play all versus tougher so that is easy to excuse. This mare gets back to her favored surface and gets in light with Culp up. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:49 WO 4th BILL NEEDLE (#8, 10-1) was a troubled second behind an impressive runaway winner last time in a seven-furlong maiden special. The son of Distorted Humor is a half-brother to long-winded stakes winners Belichick and Season Ticket and could find his calling around two turns on the Tapeta. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:03 LS 2nd BOBBY BRINKLEY (#1, 9-2) split the field last out in local turf sprint and the one-two finishers from that race returned to run one-two in the $100K Chamberlain Bridge on Monday at Lone Star Park. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:13 LAD 2nd HALFMOON REEF (#4, 8-1) exits a key race where 3 of 9 returned to win with figs of 72, 78, and 66. Works are solid especially his most recent that was 3rd best of 35. This gelding likes this dirt, draws fine, has some speed, and will be a price. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:31 LS 3rd TENTH OF GOLD (#4, 5-1) brings good racing experience to the table and like that he was favored last out at Oaklawn. He also has an age edge on most of these as he is 4. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:00 SA 1st Five in this N1X turf mile exit the same race, the choice is a gelding from a different race. ONE FAST BRO (#3, 5-1) stretches to his preferred two-turn trip after a midpack finish in a sprint. His comeback two starts ago was better than it looks (slow pace, needed start). -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:27 MTH 10th LEMON CREEK LOUIE (#7, 8-1) was off slowly in his first start against winners and never really recovered, failing to threaten, but he seems to be in line for a much better pace set up today, as there's a fair amount of speed in this field; showed two back in the maiden win that he's capable of a big run if he gets honest fractions to chase. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:32 LRL 8th CAVALIER CUPID (#9, 9-2) worked out a perfect pace-tracking, ground-saving trip when grabbing the Keswick Stakes at Colonial two back. Beat two next-out dirt winners that day including Fancy Her Up (returned to win a West Virginia-bred stake at Charles Town with a 72 Beyer). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:55 MTH 11th WENDELL FONG (#8, 8-1) gets back to six panels after going a little longer in his latest, and this is clearly his preferred distance; he'll be looking to run them all down on the wire in this Mr. Prospector Stakes but there is a fair amount of speed in this field and he can win this if the pace is on the wild side and he runs to his best Beyers for trainer Chad Summers. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:59 WO 8th LADY WAR MACHINE (#1, 12-1) dusted 3yo fillies in her first two outings last year, including in a stakes over this course and distance. She's worked encouragingly for her first run of the year in this contentious G2 and could make some noise as a longshot. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:30 HST 2nd QUEEN OF ATTITUDE (#1, 4-1) goes for the hat trick, and she sure looked good winning her first start this year despite not breaking that well. She can stalk and should get the right trip if either MI Reyna or Arikara puts pressure on DEFINITE PLEASURE who is the speed-of-the speed. -Randy Goulding | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:33 LAD 7th LOU'S ARROW (#8, 6-1) has run Beyers above 40 in two of his last three starts with the other being 36. He gets in light again and draws outside again. Second time on this dirt and with this barn can only help. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:10 CBY 1st MOXY'S GAL (#6, 8-1) has a lone sibling that is 11-1-1-1 and earned 21K. Work tab going into debut was average. Why did this filly go off at 6/5? She broke last and beat zero home but did get needed race experience. She faces very little and draws outside once again but at a better price today. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:19 LS 9th AQUIMINE (#6, 9-2) seems like one who will make good use of the bit of added distance he picks up in this spot. He also could be sitting on a peak effort in the third start of his form cycle. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:30 HST 4th RING OF KERRY (#2, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Randy Goulding). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:25 MED (Harness) 4th DOUBLE ACCOUNT (#5, 3/1) has two wins on the year and both came on the lead. Dropping in class tonight and without clear speed to his outside, he should be able to set the tempo. – Derick Giwner | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:55 YR (Harness) 4th MACINTOSH N (#2, 9/2) comes in off a win over $30,000 claimers on 5-21 and is now with trainer Dowse off a claim. That usually results in further improvement. – Greg Reinhart | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:10 CBY 5th TEXAS LONG BOW (#6, 6-1) was stuck chasing a lone F last out and then had to battle the winner at the same time. Now he cuts back a half furlong to six furlongs which he loves (Beyer top 75). Local tab is fine and this guy draws best. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:40 CBY 6th KING OF THE KIDS (#8, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:10 CBY 7th ELUSIVE FREUD (#4, 12-1) has improved his Beyer in five straight on the dirt. He gets back to the dirt today. He has some speed but not sure if he can pass a runner. Recent route try on the turf might help today's late energy. This barn is 20% turf to dirt, 20% on the dirt, and 15% in sprints. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
10:25 WBS (Harness) 11th OUTLAWGRABBINGEARS (#7, 9/2) won here with Henry in the bike two starts back and the horse he beat that night came right back to win here last week. He can get back to his winning ways tonight with a setup for his late kick likely to develop. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
