1:15 BEL 1st PEACEFUL FEELING (#6, 3-1) managed only four starts last year, including one at Belmont where she did well to be beaten about three lengths after losing all chance at the start in a race that was won wire-to-wire; got wired again last time at Gulfstream and drops in class for Sweezey, who has so far shipped the right ones to NY (5 for 21 on this circuit since going out on his own, 24%, $3.36 ROI). -Mike Beer 1:29 WO 2nd TAKE IT EASY (#3, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). 1:32 GP 4th BETTER BOAT (#3, 10-1) a new face to what appears a relatively weak category and with some breeding for the surface. Has shown a turn of foot in the a.m. -Mike Welsch 2:04 GP 5th SOVEREIGN IMPACT (#8, 8-1) back to grass for first time in nearly a year, might have enough of an inherent class edge to run down the leaders with proper handling. -Mike Welsch :: Bet the races online with DRF Bets. New members get $250 bonus 2:23 BEL 3rd KING’S HONOR (#6, 10-1) needs a step forward in order to contend here in his 3yo debut but he has more upside than anyone and thought he ran well to break his maiden two back, after facing very tough fields in his first two starts; returns as a new gelding for a trainer who has been winning races and picks up Saez. -Mike Beer 2:40 LRL 5th BA YORK (#4, 8-1) received a clever ride in first start following the break. In a race without much speed, she was hustled to clear to the lead from the far outside post and hung in decently in the stretch. She finished ahead of three of these rivals and the winner of that race returned to place third in a $10,000 ‘beaten’ claimer with a 48 Beyer. She doesn’t need the lead to win and can sit off the pacesetters this time around. -Dan Illman 3:10 LRL 6th THUNDERINTHEVALLEY’s (#2, 12-1) dam won three turf routes and has foaled stakesplaced dirt sprinter No Mo Lady, a filly that won a ‘non-winners of two other than’ over this course and distance for Trombetta on June 12. Second dam was stakes-placed going a mile on turf in France. Working steadily since late March for initial turf and route appearance and should move forward off learning dirt debut. Marquez lands here instead of Pearlyville. -Dan Illman 3:37 WO 6th NEPTUNE’S PEARL (#9, 10-1) worked well from the gate last Saturday for a successful first-out trainer. The daughter of under-rated sire The Factor is a half-sister to five winners, including the stakes-winning sprinter Courtside ($277K). -Ron Gierkink :: Get the DRF GamePlan Playbook each day with a DRF+ Pro subscription. Lots to like in femaile family, and while the dam’s side tilts toward stamina, sire Speightstown could cover the speed component. - Marcus Hersh 4:05 LAD 1st THREEWICKEDWISHES (#3, 7-2) got a 50 Beyer in her debut and that was versus 30K maiden claimers at the Fair Grounds and in the slop (poor break). Then she tried two turns on the grass where she was wide early yet still beat 4 home even though her turf breeding is marginal (238 grass Tomlinson). New barn finds a spot where this filly can’t be claimed and they want two turns. Check out that work on the 6th that was 2nd best of 67. -Scott Ehlers 4:12 CD 7th SMART REMARK (#3, 20-1) surely can’t be as long a price as the listed odds since this race shapes in his favor (overloaded with early speed) and on multiple occasions during 2019 he ran well enough over the CD lawn to beat this bunch. Toss the last - he’s no two-turn horse - but at least that start tells us he shouldn’t be ring-rusty. - Marcus Hersh 4:14 GP 9th GUMP (#6, 9-2) getting shaky call in a toughee. Forgiving last when bogging down late near the dead rail. Counting on him tripping out nicely stalking likely pace of WHO’S OUT. -Mike Welsch :: To stay up to date, follow DRF on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter 4:40 LRL 9th BUFF’S IN LOVE (#5, 6-1) plunges in class after facing two next-out winners (fourthfinisher Dance Or Stroll returned to take a starter-optional with an 81 Beyer while seventh-runner Dendrobia grabbed a ‘non-winners of two other than’ optional claimer with a 71). Buried down inside in that race, she was allowed to finish up on her own and is expected to move forward with that race under her girth. Although her turf record doesn’t look stellar, she’s faced some pretty tough sprinters in her three grass races since being taken by this outfit. Sanchez-Salomon barn won with turf runners Fifth and I Love You during the June 13-19 period. Blinkers off and cheek-pieces on. -Dan Illman 5:04 BEL 8th MEAN MARY (#7, 7-2) the somewhat rare turf router that can carry her speed longer distances, as she has shown in her two starts this year while dominating a pair of Grade 3s at Gulfstream; things get a little tougher here but she handily defeated a very good horse in Gentle Ruler last time and she may still have some improvement in her. -Mike Beer 5:14 WO 9th STORM GAUGE (#2, 12-1) was checked in traffic late in her return to action on opening day, and should be dangerous with that tightener under her girth. -Ron Gierkink 5:46 WO 10th LIVIN IN THE SIX (#8, 5-1) didn’t have the smoothest of trips when fifth in her debut on the Tapeta. The daughter of Society’s Chairman is bred for the grass, top and bottom. -Ron Gierkink 6:40 BEL 11th POWER BOSS (#7, 20-1) now 5-years-old and still a maiden but he has run some good races on turf without winning and comes back from the layoff for this, but he is facing a suspect field and will likely be a fair price; can’t love him but so think this is the right surface and the right kind of spot. -Mike Beer 6:49 LAD 7th SHANGHI DAISY (#1, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). :: Want to get your Past Performances for free?
