With most other North American sports being shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, we hope the sport of horse racing can entertain you during these trying times. Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:00 GP 1st VEER (#7, 9-2) is a class play as one who has seen steeper. -Mary Rampellini 12:30 GP 2nd LOVED GLOBALLY (#7, 12-1) has the look of a live longshot. He is a January foal by a stallion who gets juvenile debut winners at an above average rate. -Mary Rampellini 12:40 LRL 1st THE MAGICAL ONE (#1, 4-1) takes next logical step up the class ladder after successful turf debut for trainer Jerry Robb. While he did get a big pace to attack in that spot, he made a prolonged four-wide bid entering the turn and then gamely wore down the runner-up in the shadow of the wire. Nice inside post should have him saving valuable ground going into the first bend and believe he can adapt to the pace scenario. Expect him a bit closer to the leaders here. -Dan Illman 2:10 LRL 4th SECURITY BREACH (#7, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). 2:38 GP 6th GRACE’S DRAMA (#5, 10-1), who is a seven-time winner over the main track at Gulfstream Park, seeks to turn the tables on NOWITNA RIVER. -Mary Rampellini 2:40 LRL 5th STARTING TOUR (#7, 5-1) won her career debut so there’s some hope that she’ll fire fresh off a 351-day layoff for Gary Capuano. It looked like she was putting it all together before she went to the sidelines as she went gate-to-wire over this track and trip two back, then split next-out winners on July 5. In the latter race, she never received a breather as she dueled early with the eventual fourth-place finisher, was immediately set upon by the stalkers and still finished a good second to favored Call Me Jelly Roll (came back to win her third straight when grabbing a $8,000 beaten claimer with a 60 Beyer). -Dan Illman :: Royal Ascot 2020: PPs, news, analysis, picks and more  3:12 GP 7th NOBODYKNOWSNOTHIN (#10, 4-1) is well-versed at the turf sprint trip and makes the meaningful move to the maiden claiming ranks for the first time. -Mary Rampellini 3:20 WO 5th STEADY EARNER (#2, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). 3:54 WO 6th Queen’s Plate nominee AUBURN HILLS (#8, 6-1) has been freshened since graduating on the preferred inside portion of the Fair Ground turf Feb. 15. He was competitive in both of his Tapeta starts at 2. -Ron Gierkink 4:05 LAD 1st OLD FASHION AMOUR (#1, 5-1) draws inside and has speed. Need we go on? OK, there isn’t much pace in this race. Those turf tries 2 and 3 back are OK and they came without an early breather. That might change today. We know we can count on Eramia to send this horse to the front end. -Scott Ehlers 4:10 LRL 8th PRINCESS ADIRA (#5, 8-1) looked good winning maiden at this distance despite bobbling at the start, then gave an even performance going seven-eighths when three wide and in and among horses on the backstretch and turning for home (runner-up Ankle Monitor exited the Gin Talking to take a starter-optional with a 70 Beyer). Got useful turf prep for barn that is 5 for 12 (42%, $15.71 ROI) over the past two years with 3-year-olds moving from grass to dirt. -Dan Illman 4:28 WO 7th IRVING (#1, 4-1) broke in the air and then had a wide trip when fifth in his lone start on the Tapeta in October. The 4yo son of the late Giant’s Causeway is a half-brother to a G1 winner on turf in England. -Ron Gierkink 4:54 GP 10th VINNIE VAN GO (#1, 7-2) moves from five-eighths to six panels - site of his last win - and also has the speed to hold his position from the rail. VINNIE VAN GO is further appealing on the move back to the statebred ranks - and as a six-time winner. -Mary Rampellini 5:01 LAD 3rd ROCKING SHOES (#6, 15-1) sits at 15-1 on the morning line and has speed. Her current form would suggest that she is OFF form. Good. What? The best speed horse is one that looks OFF form and for two very good reasons. 1) you get a better price 2) other jocks often let this type go in the early running. This mare has won here and now puts local tries back to back. -Scott Ehlers :: Get the DRF GamePlan Playbook each day with a DRF+ Pro subscription. Purchase here. 5:01 CD 9th AQUAPHOBIA (#7, 5-1) yet another older horse claimed and moved up by trainer M Maker. Was wide into the stretch in the FG race where Factor This beat him – totally wrong place to be on a rail-biased course. Factor This rode that same rail / speed bias to his two standout FG wins – skeptical he runs back to that. – Marcus Hersh 5:28 LAD 4th MISTER ANDER (#4, 15-1) did little in his return try but that’s fine. His local tab is decent and the blinkers go ON. At this level, we are looking for anything different hence the equipment change. This gelding gets back to two turns and has some speed in a race with little speed. -Scott Ehlers 5:42 BEL 10th MAX PLAYER (#3, 15-1) may be biting off a bit more than he is ready for as he enters the Belmont following a layoff with only three starts behind him, but he has looked good every time so far with strong finishes being his calling card; the distance is no issue and he appears to be training forwardly for this, so will give him the chance to be this good in a Belmont Stakes that lacks the depth it looked like it might have a couple of months ago. -Mike Beer 5:54 GP 12th FRONT LOADED (#2, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mary Rampellini). :: To stay up to date, follow DRF on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter 6:17 BEL 11th ARGONNE (#5, 12-1) failed to class up with better horses in his last two, though he raced pretty freely in the Bowling Green before weakening; was in good form prior to stepping up while putting good tactical speed into play and he was full of run through the stretch in winning that allowance here last June after taking control early; handy sort can continue his development if ready off the layoff. -Mike Beer 6:49 BEL 12th DOUBLE SHOT (#3, 8-1) doesn’t have a huge turf pedigree but he has the right running style for this surface as he has shown tactical speed and the ability to finish in his three starts so far; will give him the chance as his main rivals have had their chances and have mostly disappointed on this surface. -Mike Beer 9:02 SA 12th MYSTERY MESSENGER (#3, 4-1) was claimed off a troubled fourth last out by Vladimir Cerin, who is 6-for-14 first-off-claim on turf since fall 2017. ‘MESSENGER can stay two turns. -Brad Free 9:02 SA 12th SHADOW SPHINX (#7, 7-2) hasn’t run in a long time but has worked strongly for his return for a trainer who’s super off the bench. He showed ample talent before and Prat sees fit to ride. – Michael Hammersly :: Meadowlands: Analysis for Saturday, June 6  :: Woodbine Mohawk Park: Analysis for Saturday, June 6
