Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:10 WO 1st LINDA LOVES LACE (#7, 15-1) wired a group of $25K maidens off a long layoff in a Tapeta sprint a year ago, and that ability to fire when fresh makes her a player in this NW2 tilt. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 1:13 MTH 3rd DADASHEV (#2, 8-1) was against the race flow in his latest, as the top two finishers were the primary speeds, and this gelding was down inside and off the pace; that sprint was against better than what he meets today and it came up fast, with the winner posting a 76 Beyer where the average winning figure is 63 for the class and distance. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:37 GP 6th HOLIDAY PRINCESS (#4, 6-1) didn't do much in her last 2 starts but you can be forgiving as her April 17 was first time on turf and she was facing more expensive, and then she tried synthetic again at this level here May 29 to no avail, but that was her 3 synthetic try and that doesn't seem the footing she wants. She's back to dirt and easily her best effort came on dirt at this trip at this level March 12 when a sharp 2nd. -Michael Hammersly | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:40 MTH 6th JOHNNY OBVIOUS (#1, 6-1) didn't break well in either of those last two starts at Charles Town and that left him with no real chance, as he is at his best when on the lead and those were fields that contained a couple of runners with high speed, and races that set up for closers (note "C" symbols in DRF running lines); has a chance to shake loose in the opening stages of this race, assuming he can break cleanly. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:45 LAD 1st PUBLIC RECORD (#3, 4-1) is locally based and just broke his maiden on this dirt. New horse for course then? It helps that a high percentage barn calls the shots in Asmussen. First time winners around here are no big deal unlike some jurisdictions. This colt won at 7 panels so today's 6 1/2 should not hinder. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:52 LRL 5th ERAWAN (#1, 6-1) must deal with 166-day layoff, but he's shown hints of potential throughout his career. Faced two next-out winners when wired in final start of 2021 (the winner returned to finish first in his next two starts, both $25,000 starters, with Beyers of 72 and 83). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:10 MTH 7th SHIMMERING LIGHT (#4, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:28 LRL 6th Graham Motion is 11 for the last 35 (31%, $2.68 ROI) with second-out maidens and FOUL BALLS (#10, 6-1) showed good speed at Pimlico. Pressed favored Run Raegan Run before tiring. The dam is a half-sister to multiple stakes-winning turf router Giant Run and the second dam won the Grade 2 Jersey Derby on turf against males. Expecting good zip once again from daughter of 15% turf-sprint stallion Twirling Candy. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:39 MTH 8th LEADER OF THE BAND (#7, 9-2) was no real threat in the Serena's Song Stakes but she had a deceptively difficult trip, as she was caught down inside and off the pace on a day when outside speeds held an advantage; that was clearly a hindrance that made it tough for her to run to her best figures, and while she was unable to run to her best figures two and three back (she wasn't asked in the easy win two back, and was off slowly and wide in her first start off the layoff) she may be in line to take a big step forward in the Lady's Secret Stakes given the expected race flow. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:41 LAD 3rd OUTERBANKS (#5, 6-1) likes the grass and just ran well on the local dirt. There is very little pace in this race so now might be a good time to send it. This gelding was a length off the early pace 7 back at Canterbury and the opening split was 21 and 3. This gelding will have to break in a new jock as Guerrero sticks with the Wilson horse but that is no surprise. Distance breeding is solid. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:37 LRL 8th EMBOLDEN (#2, 8-1) won the restricted Punch Line stakes over this course and distance in 2020 and moves from synthetic to turf after a useful effort at Woodbine. Broke sharp, then settled off a solid pace while in the five path. Made a four-wide bid under urging on the turn, then tried hard for second to earn a career-best Beyer. Carrasco lands here instead of Glory Song (1,133 lbs. on May 8). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:37 LAD 5th RELUCTANT WARRIOR (#4, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:48 GP 10th MISS YOU ELLA (#5, 5-1) was only 4th in a stakes on AQU turf April 24 but that was a brutally tough spot and she faces no one like the top 2 finishers from that race race here. It was also her first start in 2 1/2 months so she's eligible to move forward. She rallied to be a nice 3rd in a G3 on this course at this trip in the winter. -Michael Hammersly | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:45 LRL 10th Curious to see how ILLUSTRIOUS (#8, 12-1) fares moving turf to dirt in first off the Ferris Allen claim (scored with 23-1 shot Claire's Darling with the same surface switch last summer at Laurel). Not a ton of grass pedigree on display although the second dam won going a mile over soft going at Arlington. The June 7 work matches up with Allen's 8-year-old Love You Much (88 Beyer top on turf). Perhaps they breezed in company. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 7:15 HST 5th HEART OF TEXAS (#5, 5-1) moved too soon into a fast and contested pace and paid for it in the stretch when she finished third in a similar spot May 29. She could pull off a mild upset with a better-timed ride. -Randy Goulding | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 8:13 HST 7th QUALITY COMMAND (#1, 6-1) will appreciate the easier company after not being able to keep up to Belcarra Park who came back to romp in an open allowance race and she looks like the main threat to the undefeated U Did It in the $50K River Rock Casino in the fourth race. She broke well enough and showed some early interest but something may have been bothering her as Reyes gave up on her early. Nice work June 5 suggests all is well and she could be gone if she breaks alertly from her inside post. -Randy Goulding | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 8:15 CBY 4th TIGER BAIT (#6, 9-2) can pass runners and catches a race with a ton of front speed. This mare gets back to the dirt and goes second time this jockey. This mare does have some solid tries at Oaklawn not that long ago. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:00 SA 9th ARKAAN (#2, 4-1) stretches from a decent third in a turf sprint, to a dirt route. The speed of the field, he is the one to catch. He ran long only once previously, third in a stake in summer 2020. Come and catch him. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 10:15 CBY 8th HAPPY HOUR BOBBY (#6, 5-1) has good speed for a good barn and draws fine. There isn't that much speed in here and this guy might prove quickest and if so then an early breather is in the cards. Recent bullet work bodes well, right? -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 10:45 CBY 9th DIABLO CUERNO (#6, 6-1) seems to have found the proper level and should find the winner's circle sooner than later. We like Harr up as she is riding better of late and knows this gelding. Race flow is more than fair for a stalking trip. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 8:20 YR (Harness) 5th GINGER TREE PETE (#4, 7-1) left from post seven last Saturday but couldn't clear and wound up getting parked. I take it as a sign of positive intent that he was sent from the outside, though, and he gets some post relief here, plus a driver switch to Kakaley. – Greg Reinhart | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:20 WBS (Harness) 8th BEACH GLASS (#8, 5-2) gets driver Gingras in the bike for the first time tonight and my gut tells me he is going to fire a big one making his second start back with that driver change. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:45 MED (Harness) 10th MONTEFALCO N (#6, 9-2) has been getting smaller checks lately and perhaps that has you thinking this guy can’t win, but check out the winning times of his races - 1:49; 1:48 3/5; 1:49 3/5 - to get a clearer picture of what he was up against. Seven-year-old gets a good amateur driver who is great at gunning off the gate and working out a trip, which would be perfect for this guy. – Derick Giwner | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
