DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Saturday, February 20, 2021

DRF Staff|Feb 19, 2021
Just Might wins the Colonel Power Stakes.2-13-2021
Hodges Photography/Jan Brubeck Just Might scores a repeat win in the Colonel Power Stakes - this time on dirt.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:47 TAM 2nd FUCHSIA (#11, 12-1) was off the board in her local debut but she ran a better race than the running line may indicate, as she made a mid-race move there before she flattened out late; needs pace but she should get it. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:08 GP 3rd R LOVE ON THE RUN (#5, 9-2) got beat by a couple of very average rivals when well backed for her debut last summer but must respect her speed returning at five furlongs on the turf and out of a mare whose two sibs have won 7 times on grass. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:15 TAM 3rd CONGRATS SMOKE (#3, 6-1) was outrun in his debut but he was in against better there and the Beyer he posted puts him in the middle of this maiden claimer; working like he’s going to run an improved race in his first start since September. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:04 LRL 4th DIXIE DRAWL (#6, 9-2) has won three of his last five and appears ready for his return to stakes company after an impressive victory against “two-other-thans” three weeks ago. He prompted the quick pace three wide, made a sharp bid to the front three furlongs out and cruised on home to win as pounds the best. Has the tactical speed to work out a similar trip. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:20 AQU 3rd SEETHISQUICK (#2, 4-1) was off the layoff here last Saturday when caught wide all the way over a track that was strongly favoring the rail; back quickly for his second start off the bench with a series of back races that would make him tough in here. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:36 GP 6th COVE BLUE (#2, 6-1) a tough one to figure but working well since returning locally and too fast for these if getting loose and at his best today. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:43 TAM 6th PASSION’S IMAGE (#2, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:20 AQU 5th EXALTED CHARM (#1A, 8-1) debuted down in Florida vs. a big field and he landed in a salty race there that’s dominated by Godolphin firster Prevalence with a big 89 Beyer; looked green while getting outpaced in that race and winding up over behind horses, and he may be set for better in his second start for Breen: second career start, maiden, dirt, 10 for his last 28, 36%, $2.58 ROI. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:41 GP 8th KING CAIRO (#5, 15-1) faced with impossible trip from that outside post in two turn bow, held well despite being forced wide throughout. Third could be a charm, especially if allowed to show his best early foot with addition of blinkers today. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:47 TAM 8th UNSPOILED MOMENTS (#6, 12-1) had no chance in a swiftly-run race two back, as it was his first start off the layoff and controlled by the eventual first two finishers from the start, making it tough on the closers; he ran a much improved race in his latest despite finishing off the board, however, rallying nicely through the lane and galloping out very well past the wire, and he can upset this field given some help from the pacesetters, which seems likely. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:12 GP 9th AUBURN HILLS (#9, 12-1) was not able to show his best speed after checking back soon after the start. Continues top train well, gets nod on drop to this level. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:19 LRL 8th It appears LEBDA (#3, 8-1) is racing himself back into form as he makes the third start of the form cycle with good tactical speed. Pressed the pace three wide in the early portion of the Fire Plug, briefly took command in between horses on the turn and faltered just a bit in the lane. Like him stretching back out in distance. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:20 AQU 9th OUCH OUCH OUCH (#3, 6-1) rallied for third in his debut over a wet track and finished ahead of a couple of these same rivals; lightly-raced gelding cuts in half for this while adding lasix and catches a field full of horses that have already had their chances. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
