DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Saturday, February 12, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:41 TAM 2nd SILVER SEA (#3, 6-1) and BEACH BREEZE (#6, 15-1) met last time out in their respective career bows and while both were off the board they caught the eye with nice late runs; gave the edge to the former based on today's addition of blinkers and connections but the latter will likely be a much better price, and will use them both equally in multi-race exotics. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:27 GP 4th CUPID AUSTIN (#8, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:40 OP 2nd RESERVE (#6, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mary Rampellini). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:54 LRL 4th We'll find out more about MONARCH BEACH (#5, 5-1) as he steps up significantly in class and distance following big maiden win. Returned after only a week off following promising debut, broke sharp, tracked the easy pace three wide, made a four-wide bid under confident handling and was too good. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:50 AQU 5th CENTRAL PRIDE (#7, 5-1) landed in a fast race first time out and he did not run poorly at all while dueling the pace with heavily-favored Hot Rod Rumble for a long way before tiring late; dangerous if running as well right back vs. this field. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:53 LRL 6th AWARD WANTED (#10, 5-1) looked good beating restricted allowance foes three back, then rebounded from a perplexing poor effort with a solid performance against promising odds-on Churchill invader Frost Point. Chased a very fast pace, took over at the five-sixteenths and understandably tired in the stretch. Perhaps others will do the dirty work for her this time around. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:23 AQU 6th LONDON GOLD (#2, 15-1) caught a wet track first time out vs. restricted MSW rivals and raced greenly in that spot, before racing on with some late interest; returned from a layoff for her second start and tired after having to steady a bit early before doing some chasing; well-bred filly drops with a chance to improve. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:17 LRL 9th It's possible that MENDING (#5, 4-1) has already found her ceiling as she underperformed at this level after two sharp victories against weaker, but want to give her one more chance turning back in distance. Broke out a bit from wide post position last month, pushed the pace outside and flattened out badly in the stretch. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:54 TAM 10th KITTEN MISCHIEF (#12, 12-1) couldn't catch up with the odds-on favorite, the pacesetting A. P.'s Secret, in an optional claimer last time but that was a better effort than the running line may indicate, as this gelding was stuck down inside and at a tactical disadvantage. He moves way outside for the Sam F. Davis but with his positional speed he should be ideally spotted behind a contested pace and he can take a big step forward given that type of set up. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:01 AQU 9th FLATTERY'S MUSIC (#4, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:20 OP 9th PHAROAH'S HEART (#10, 5-1) gives up recency to these as this marks her first start since April, but like that she won in her career debut and that the start came at this six furlong distance. For the effort, PHAROAH'S HEART earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 90. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:33 TAM 11th CHIC N WILBUR (#8, 15-1) makes his grass debut but he's kin to a stakes-placed turfer in Market Bubble, who won a couple of races on this surface, including his own debut; away since September but trainer Anthony Ferraro is at his best with horses off this type of layoff. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:43 GP 12th TWIRLING BLUES (#8, 20-1) checked into first turn, turned in willing effort thereafter stretching around two turns for first time and likely to move forward with experience and added distance. Shaky nod in wide open finale. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:56 OP 10th RATED R SUPERSTAR (#4, 8-1) might get an ideal setup in the Razorback as there appears to be a nice amount of speed in the race. The millionaire has a strong closing kick, and also has the benefit of picking up more ground on the move from a mile to a mile and a sixteenth. RATED R SUPERSTAR also has the benefit of a race under his belt - and it was a win in the Fifth Season in his first start since September. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:25 OP 11thThere are five Triple Crown nominees in the field. CHILENO (#7, 8-1) is well-versed at two turns and might benefit if the strip is fast after catching a wet track last time for the first time in his career. He's from a multiple Group 1-winning mare. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:20 MED (Harness) 1st WRAPPERS DELIGHT A (#2, 9-2) drops in for a tag for the first time tonight and is facing MUCH easier competition. It is hard to imagine he won’t show up with a strong effort. – Derick Giwner | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:00 WBS (Harness) 7th DAY DELIGHT (#6, 9-2) faces easier and he gets a much better post here. I expect driver Jamieson to put him into play leaving the gate and he gets the nod. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
