Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:10 GP 1st SIMPLY JACK (#9, 8-1) gets shaky nod amongst always hard to gauge, full field of bottom level N2L claimers to kick things off. Aggressively spotted for local bow after winning maiden for $20K last out on grass at Indiana Horseshoe. Ran well in lone synthetic try behind subsequent SW Buck Moon earlier in his career. -Mike Welsch  1:55 LRL 4th AMERICA'S PRIDE (#7, 20-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch).  2:14 AQU 5th FIRST DEPUTY (#5, 15-1) ran fine when stretched out off the claim three starts back but he is better sprinting and will appreciate this cutback after catching sloppy tracks in his last two at Finger Lakes; caught a speed-favoring track and had no chance the last time he sprinted at Saratoga. -Mike Beer  2:24 LRL 5th ABUELO PAPS (#5, 20-1) ran evenly or pushed the pace not that long ago but has since learned to pass runners. That is key as there is a lot of pace in this race. His previous mile tries were solid even if off the board (Beyers of 71 and 65). He returns to restricted foes and figures a good price. -Scott Ehlers  2:42 AQU 6th FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE (#3, 10-1) debuted at Saratoga for a trainer who doesn't win with many first-time starters, and showed speed in that race before weakening late to finish behind today's rivals Flying in Style; has switched barns since then and is a threat to do even better. -Mike Beer  3:03 GP 7th CHISPARRAJOS (#5, 12-1) could not quite keep pace late with Brad Cox trained Fidget while earning career best Beyer stretching to a mile at Indiana and looks like perhaps a legit late threat in a field absolutely loaded with speed. May have to ultimately run down INVEIGLED. -Mike Welsch  3:30 LRC 1st THIRSTY GAMBLER (#1, 4-1) didn't do much in his first 4 starts, though in his defense all that came vs. tougher. He got plenty of time off, returned with a drop on the short course here Nov. 26 and responded nicely to be a sharp 2nd. Could be he's got things figured out and this might prove his proper level. His 2 sibs, both fulls, are winners including Good N Thirsty (7-1-0-1, $58K, 1 SP). -Michael Hammersly  3:32 GP 8th ROUNDTOP (#13, 10-1) will have to overcome tough post if he draws in but sitting on maiden win after a couple of solid efforts to launch career. Was second best in debut behind Fulmineo who flattered race when runner-up in the Pilgrim in his next start. -Mike Welsch 3:33 WO 6th SPELLCHECK (#10, 6-1) has worked fast for a 16% 2yo debut trainer and could be loaded for bear. Elite sire Candy Ride has gotten 12.5% 2yo debut winners and the $130K Keeneland yearling hails from a quality family. -Ron Gierkink  3:40 AQU 8th YOU LOOK COLD (#4, 6-1) seemed to confirm that she does not care for a wet track when coming with a strong finish to close down allowance rivals last time, despite being bothered a bit past midstretch of that race; got into good form when switched back to dirt earlier this year and projects to have some pace in front of her here as she steps up in class. -Mike Beer  3:48 TAM 8th SAMYAZA (#7, 6-1) has some early zip, and while his last win came in gate-to-wire fashion at Canterbury he can be expected to revert to stalking tactics here, as there's speed to his inside and out; this is his first start off a three-month freshening but he's been training steadily, with that November 22nd breeze standing out on his work tab. -Kenny Peck  4:13 GG 3rd The first-time starter HOT AND SPICY (#3, 10-1) looks poised to run well in this $25,000 claimer for maidens. Hot and Spicy is by Competitive Edge, who wins with a sharp 18 percent of his juvenile debut runners. Hot and Spicy is trained by Steve Sherman, who won with a first-time starter as recently as late October and has a good record in the category. -Steve Andersen  4:15 TAM 9th MR MURGO (#10, 10-1) is wide here but he lands in a relatively paceless sprint, and with him coming off a shorter sprint he should be able to clear the field in the opening stages; given his best back figures he may be good enough to steal this if he's allowed to set his own pace on a clear, uncontested lead. -Kenny Peck  4:18 OP 7th UNDERHILL'S TAB (#4, 9-2) backed up in distance last time and ran a credible fourth in a race that went quite quick. He owns a strong last-race Beyer Speed Figure. -Mary Rampellini  4:32 GP 10th MAJOR PRYCE (#10, 6-1) was fanned extremely wide, could not make up the ground turning back in distance and switching to Tapeta last time. Back to main, has some extra distance to work with, might catch enough pace to be along with these. -Mike Welsch  4:43 GG 10th Neither WALKING BOSS (#4, 15-1) or WILL IS CHILL had good trips when they were third and second in a conditional $4,000 claimer at a mile on Nov. 18. Both were stuck in traffic on the turn and closed with wide rallies to be nearest to race winner Twirling Derby at the finish. In this conditional $4,000 claimer at a mile, Walking Boss has a better post than Will Is Chill, who drew the outside in a field of 10. -Steve Andersen  5:13 GG 5th EXPLOSIVELY (#3, 8-1) is one of several first-time starters in this big field who demand attention. Trained by Ed Moger, Jr., who does well with debut runners, Explosively had a sharp five-furlong workout from the gate in 1:00.80 on Nov. 24, and a few other works in the last seven weeks in which he showed good times. -Steve Andersen  5:14 OP 9th COASTAL CHARM (#6, 9-2) is back at Oaklawn, where she won last season's Dig A Diamond Stakes to improve her local record to 3-for-5. She has natural speed in an asset that should serve her well in a race configuration that ends at the sixteenth pole. -Mary Rampellini  6:28 LRC 7th RED CROSS KNIGHT (#3, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Michael Hammersly).  8:07 RP 1st PRINCESS BALL (#3, 6-1) had to need her return try at least to some extent. What we like the best is that she puts races together. We think she will like today's seven panels. She has some back class and hails from a top barn and even gets good race flow. This full field helps all exotics. -Scott Ehlers  9:31 RP 4th PACIFIC THEATER (#7, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers).  9:59 RP 5th CHOJO (#1, 6-1) blew the start in her debut but ran a little better in her second start which came on the dirt. She broke her maiden in her third start which came on the green. She improved her Beyer in her second and third starts all while double digits. She caught the mud in her return race but still showed some tactical speed before calling it a day. -Scott Ehlers
