?q=100)
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:00 KEE 1st WEST COAST HARBOR (#6, 10-1) set a pressured pace after breaking from the rail while facing $50K maidens in a pair of Oaklawn starts. Better post position for a more relaxed trip against lesser opposition. – Marcus Hersh
1:20 AQU 1st LIGHT THE WAY (#2, 8-1) improved when cut back to sprint in his second career start before missing time; was also better in his second start back from the layoff at the end of the year; seems to be better sprinting and he is a new gelding for this while second off the layoff again. – Mike Beer
2:04 KEE 3rd IRIDESCENT (#6, 6-1) looks like a six-furlong horse who only has made three of seven starts at a distance that short. Working steadily for first start since Feb. 25 and while in for $100K, he was claimed in November for half that price. Looks like he's in for a perfect pressing trip just outside rail speed. – Marcus Hersh
2:56 AQU 4th UNION LIGHTS (#3, 6-1) often finds one better but he has run well in all three starts for Potts, including that last one when having no chance with a loose-on-the-lead favorite; fits well here and has fine tactical speed, just can't take him at any short price. – Mike Beer
3:16 OP 5th VIGANO (#4, 8-1) shortens up a tad in distance to a mile and the last time he raced at the trip he crossed the wire in front. – Mary Rampellini
3:28 AQU 5th WISH LIST (#8, 8-1) got wired in the sprint debut but was gamely second-best before enduring an extended layoff; looked like she needed that first start back when conservatively ridden early before getting untracked late and finishing well; don't want to hold the first route attempt against her as is came in a slow-paced race on a different surface. – Mike Beer
3:46 GP 6th Pretty evenly matched bunch with trip likely to determined outcome. CURRENT SITUATION (#7, 6-1) figures forwardly placed in field lacking much in the way of any real early foot. Always competitive for this tag. – Mike Welsch
4:30 SA 4:30 MS MCWHINNEY (#8, 5-1) drops one more level to maiden-50, it might be enough for this modest turf sprint. Her runner-up sprint debut on this course Jan. 1, and close fourth two back at one mile, both are fast enough. – Brad Free
5:07 AQU 8th EQUITIZE (#5, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer).
5:16 KEE 9th Lost track of how many times I went through this race - probably a classic case of overthinking things. DYNAMIC ONE (#7, 8-1) might not ever get back to the peak he hit before his year-plus layoff, but the price ought to be right here to give him one more chance at that. He trip at Tampa was fairly claustrophobic and he at least finished decently at a 1 1/16-mile trip shorter than he needs. If likely favorite Kingsbarns hooks up with Laughing on a fast pace, he just might have a chance.
5:51 GP 10th SHAQ DIESEL (#1, 6-1) back to more suitable spot after being over-matched in last pair. Hard knocking sort should catch a very honest pace to run at with clear sailing. – Mike Welsch
