Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:46 MTH 2nd BRONX BEAUTY (#2, 7-2) has speed but she also has a bit of a rating gear and that could be an important consideration here, as there's a good amount of early zip signed up for this sprint; she was on the lead in her latest but that was going longer, against better, and she can be expected to revert to stalking tactics today with the removal of the blinkers. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 1:10 SAR 2nd THE HONORABLE RUTH (#3, 12-1) debuted at Finger Lakes last month and looked a little green chasing a well-backed, front-running winner after getting in a bit at the start; kept on pretty gamely in that spot to wind up a clear second-best and goes for a trainer who can get them to improve after a start - maiden, second career start, dirt, sprint: 8 for his last 31, 26%, $2.57 ROI. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 1:17 MTH 3rd BIG PERM (#2, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race 1:38 WO 2nd PUGIN (#6, 6-1) stalked in second before flattening out to fifth when switching from turf to the Tapeta in a recent 5 1/2-furlong dash. He could inherit the lead and never look back in this seven-furlong tilt at the same $10K NW2 level. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  1:43 SAR 3rd NO WORD (#4, 6-1) ran well in his first two stakes tries as a 3yo vs. the likes of Domestic Spending and Gufo, then had a no-chance trip at Keeneland prior to the layoff; returned with another tough go when always out of position and wide vs. a solid group of allowance horses up here; tactical enough to do better in the trip department and he might be sufficiently dirtied up to take a chance with at a price. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 2:27 KD 3rd Seemingly all the key players here are coming out of IND races, and on top will try GINORMOUS (#6, 10-1) , who was made eligible to this $10K starter in her most recent race, a drop-down win for the tag. She did get a good pace setup in that victory but is relatively unexposed on grass and figures to be a fair price. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  2:36 WO 4th CHOOSE HOPE (#9, 8-1) is coming off a distant fourth-place finish in a rapidly-run NW2 OS/$40K event. She's cheapening up to a much easier $25K contest here for her second start after a break, and could break through with Moran climbing aboard. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 4:29 SAR 8th OLD SCHOOL (#6, 5-1) a Frankel firster with a huge European pedigree on the bottom, being out of a dam who is sister to major Group 1 winner Golan and Tartan Bearer (Group 2 win and placed in several major races over there, including the Epsom Derby); appears to be training well up to this. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 5:00 DMR 2nd A pair of European imports top this turf route for maiden 2yos; PERCOLATE (#6, 8-1) gets the nod over PICOTA (#2, 8-1) in a close call. PERCOLATE showed tenacity finishing a sharp second in his career debut at Sandown Park in England, a brawl of a race in which there was a lot of bumping the final quarter-mile. PERCOLATE kept fighting to the end, and ran well. Full brother to graded winner Pantsonfire, PERCOLATE can fire first out in the U.S. PICOTA also ran well overseas, in the money all three starts in England. His trainer excels with Euro-imports. The horse that defeated PICOTA last out won again two starts later; the horse that defeated PERCOLATE won again (via disqualification) three starts later. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race  5:15 KD 8th Like the work pattern for long-layoff comebacker CARAMELITO (#5, 6-1), who ran well fresh at KD last season, albeit coming back from a much shorter absence., Went off form in final start before layoff (likely a related situation) but the other three sprints since joining this outfit look competitive in this N1X allowance. Needs to get into the race a little sooner than during KD 2020 but that's doable and the price should be square. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  6:10 SAR 11th JOHNNY SACK (#5, 20-1) has shown some ability on the dirt while on the board in all five starts to date, and he has faced some good company along the way; got rained off the turf last time (he was entered MTO two back when facing a very strong field) and ran well again; Mosler was a good turf horse and has gotten off to a decent start with his turf progeny (14% turf route winners from a limited sample) and there is turf on the bottom of this pedigree. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  6:58 KD 11th Were he a shorter price, NOBALS (#5, 8-1) would merit skepticism coming back on such short rest, but he's likely to be overlooked in the wagering, and as well as he ran off the private purchase winning the Arl-Wash Futurity last out, I'll give him a shot at something like 6-1 or higher. This gelding (obviously!) traveled strongly from the 3f home and is bred to handle both more distance and turf. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  7:00 DMR 6th A potentially modest pace scenario benefits comebacker ALTHEA GIBSON (#5, 4-1) in this N1X turf sprint. A three-time winner who won her only sprint start on this course last summer, the Grazen filly posted a series of bullet works recently at LRC and has speed to be forwardly placed in a race likely to unfold at an easy clip. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race  8:00 DMR 8th OPTIMISING (#8, 20-1) was visually impressive (on video) winning his debut on a synthetic surface in England; the horse he defeated returned to win next out. That is enough of an endorsement to make him top choice in this turf mile stakes for 2yos. The field did not come up particularly strong. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race 8:30 DMR 9th The debut romp by MURRAY (#5, 7-2) stamps him the one to beat in the G1 Del Mar Futurity. Although the 2-3-4-5 finishers from the maiden race ran back and lost, MURRAY worked forwardly since the win and is bred to improve as the distances increase. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
