Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:00 GP 1st CONGRATSROSY (#14, 3-1), an MTO, gets the call should this come off as she comes off a sharp 2nd where she pressed the pace from the start only to succumb in the final half-furlong. Should this stay on the turf, KATAMA MOONLIGHT (#5, 2-1) rates a look. -Michael Hammersly 2:02 GP 5th MYSTICAL MOON (#7, 3-1) may have turned the corner. The gelding had shown talent since the winter but he put it all together with an emphatic win on this course Aug. 14. That came for this same price, though it came vs. N3L foes, whereas today he faces open foes. But if that last shows he's figured out things he can be up to that challenge. -Michael Hammersly 1:13 LRL 2nd AIR TOKEN (#1, 12-1) made a promising turf debut 15 days ago and now adds blinkers for barn that is 6 for the last 21 (29%, $3.04 ROI) when adding the hood. Tracked a slow pace set by longshot winner The Cotswald Wasp, was hard-ridden entering the turn when the pace quickened noticeably, dropped inside turning for home and finished with some interest. This inside post allows him the option of saving valuable ground going into the first turn while in just behind the leaders. Karamanos lands here instead of R V Treasure. -Dan Illman :: Bet the races online with DRF Bets. New members get $250 bonus 1:46 LRL 3rd OVERPOWER (#3, 9-2) looks like a grinding sort that would appreciate a good pace up front. Saved ground most of the way in most recent outing and was gaining in the lane with a good gallop-out. Late-runners like this need pace and race luck so demand value. -Dan Illman 2:19 LRL 4th MUCHA MEZQUINA (#9, 6-1) hasn't run a bad race on turf and seeks third straight since being claimed by Salvaggio and returned to the lawn. Thought she looked very good downing entry-level allowance foes at Parx as she was rated off the rail to push the pace from the two path, took over at will turning for home and stayed straight and strong to deny next-out 79-Beyer winner B B's Busted (scored at same level at Monmouth). -Dan Illman 2:30 WO 4th HASN'T HIT ME YET (#2, 8-1) shook loose up front before tiring to fifth in her improved third start off the bench two weeks ago. She's plunging from $25K to $10K with Ryan back in the saddle. -Ron Gierkink 3:05 WO 5th KEEPME IN THEGAME (#3, 4-1) rallied inside from off lively fractions to finish third with a 79 Beyer when going long in her first Tapeta excursion Aug. 2. She's worked thrice since, and seems poised to break through with blinkers on. -Ron Gierkink :: Get the DRF GamePlan Playbook each day with a DRF+ Pro subscription. He lost valuable position early when pinballed in between horses and forced to drop to the tail end of the field. He had too much work to do in a race won in gate-to-wire fashion, but showed some late interest to finish directly behind two next-out winners (Quality Choice returned to take two in a row at Parx with Beyers of 78 and 68, respectively while Catch a Cab came back to beat New York-bred claimers with an 80 Beyer). Seems like a nice fit for Gonzalez as he makes his local debut. -Dan Illman 3:36 WO 6th WILLY'S CASTLE (#6, 20-1) was in tight at the sixteenth pole before finishing fifth last time when switching to the grass, his least-favorite surface. He was previously in solid Tapeta form, and the closer has lots of speed to chase here. -ROn Gierkink 4:31 LRL 8th Think POWERFULLY BUILT (#3, 10-1) has enough turf pedigree to handle the surface switch. A half-brother to a grass winner, he is out of a half-sister to stakes-placed turf sprinters Sheer Faith and Sheer Numbers. The second dam was multiple stakes-placed sprinting on the sod as well. Gave a good try against favored Went West (returned to finish second in a "two-other-than" optional claimer with an 82 Beyer) on dirt last month and can get close to the pace. -Dan Illman 5:09 WO 9th PURPLE SCOOTER (#11, 6-1) is dropping second-time off the claim and experimenting on the grass, a surface which she's nicely-bred for on the dam's side. She was in fine form before coming up empty in her latest. -Ron Gierkink
