12:35 GPW 2nd HIGHWAY FLYER (#4, 8-1) showed some promised when returning to dirt for only the second time, repeat effort might be good enough to run down this bunch. -Mike Welsch
12:50 BEL 1st MAIDEN BEAUTY (#6, 6-1) dropping realistically for the first time - she did race for a $100k tag last year - with the form to be very tough on this field after making her last two starts on turf, and facing two much better fields prior to that when returned from the layoff; has tactical speed, likes this distance and handles any kind of surface. -Mike Beer
1:05 KEE 1st CHARGE IT JENN (#2, 6-1) has been kept on a steady work pattern since she went turf to dirt and ran second during Keeneland July at a considerably higher class level than this. Suspect she’ll be overlooked in the wagering. Barn won the opener on the Wed card. -Marcus Hersh
1:39 KEE 2nd SHASTA STAR (#3, 5-1) led in her Kentucky Downs win last time but look back at her NorCal form from last year and find her top dirt races came from stalking and closing positions. She gets a positive bump up in claiming price and probably will offer ample bang for your buck. -Marcus Hersh
1:44 WO 2nd PERFECT REVENGE (#1, 6-1) raced three-wide from off a slow pace before checking in third when plunging to the lower NW2 ranks in his latest. He could be competitive at a square price if things go his way in this higher NW2 tilt. -Ron Gierkink

1:44 GPW 4th MY ASHLEIGH (#5, 9-2) the first foal to race from this mare and showing enough promise in the a.m. to warrant attention right off the bat with this average looking group. -Mike Welsch
2:30 BEL 4th READY SEEKER (#3, 12-1) debuted long on turf and never made an impact from off the pace at Saratoga last month; has more of a dirt pedigree on the bottom and Pletcher actually has good numbers with horses like this - maiden, second career start, turf to dirt: 40%, $2.61 ROI, 4 for his last 9 going route to sprint in that sample, 44%, $3.77 ROI; prefer runners with experience in races like this but he appears to be facing some live firsters in this spot. -Mike Beer
3:18 KEE 5th TELLURIDE QUEEN (#2, 12-1), debuting for the Sims barn, cost $4K and starts off for $30K with a solid-seeming work pattern, and will take her to upset MSW-dropping likely strong favorite FLATOYA. -Marcus Hersh
3:24 GPW 7th HARRY’S ONTHELOOSE (#3, 8-1) back in familiar hands with Wilensky barn, exits big try behind red hot Fully Loaded who has been a bear since being haltered a couple of months back. Won open $62,500 optional allowance last time after beating Harry less than a length on 9/6. -Mike Welsch
4:12 BEL 7th STANHOPE (#12, 6-1) breaks from a tough outside post but want to give him the chance to take a step forward here after being sent to contest a fast pace in his 3yo debut off the layoff, also from an outside draw; showed some talent last year and will add lasix for his second start back. -Mike Beer

4:33 SA 3rd SYBIL’S KITTY (#4, 6-1) gets ideal conditions to win this $10k claiming sprint at six furlongs. Both wins were on this track. Freshened two months, ‘KITTEN can mow them down if she catches likely pacesetter BOUNTY OF GOLD. -Brad Free
5:11 WO 8th THE REIGN MAN (#7, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).
5:41 SA 5th The rail post and contested pace contributed to the defeat of PRINCIPE CARLO (#7, 5-1) last out. He gets more favorable circumstances this time. He moves to an outside post (7 of 8), shortens from six and one-half furlong to six, and returns to the Santa Anita surface on which eight starts produced three wins, four seconds. He can win with a pace-setting/pace-pressing trip. -Brad Free
5:52 BEL 10th WHAT’S TO BLAME (#6, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer).
6:44 SA 7th Two turns was too far for SELF TAUGHT (#2, 12-1) last out; he pressed the pace and tired late. The closing sprinter runs best around one turn; his two most-recent sprints were highly rated runner-up finishes against older. Claimed last out by Steve Knapp, ‘TAUGHT cuts back to his preferred trip and gets the call to win from behind. -Brad Free
7:44 SA 9th KING PARKER (#8, 4-1) finished strongly vs. cheaper to be a good 4th at DMR Sept. 7. He gets an encouraging price hike and Prat stays. A strong work here Sept. 30 says he’s doing well. – Michael Hammersly

11:23 RP 8th LADY GWEN (#2, 9-2) cuts back to one turn and the last time she sprinted on turf she was just edged while equaling her best career Beyer Speed Figure. The race came on the turnback. -Mary Rampellini
