Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:35 KEE 2nd STAR SHOPPING (#4, 10-1) just seemed to tire late after taking stretch-call lead while debuting in a turf route at Ellis won by Ready to Purrform, who returned with a powerhouse Laurel Futurity win and whose connections have designs on the BC Juvenile Turf. Worked back three times and like that positional pace. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race 1:39 LRL 3rd MYSTIC TIMES (#4, 6-1) set the pace outside even-money favorite Jack Bo (finished last) while well off the rail, put that one away and held off the closers when pulling off the upset last month. The fifth-finisher from that race returned to run second for $10,000 on turf with a 76 Beyer). It's worth noting that speed did well on Sept. 12 and he might have taken advantage of the track somewhat. Versatile enough to adapt to any pace scenario. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 2:07 LRL 4th HARDCORE FOLKLORE's (#1, 6-1) exceeded the Beyer par for this level with a useful third-place finish three back at Monmouth. Broke well, but was outsprinted early, he then commenced a four-wide bid on the backstretch to get into contention, made the lead on the second turn and battled gamely to the line. Tried to rally in a race where they ran 1-2 around the track last time out (the fourth-finisher returned to win a $4,000 conditioned claimer at Mountaineer with a 62 Beyer). Lack of early zip might work against him in this field. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 3:02 GP 5th Not a lot of pace in this lineup which could give the class dropping QUEEN CALYPSO (#3, 4-1) the advantage if sent out early to control the race in synthetic debut. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  3:20 KEE 5th Will guess BRAD'S TIME (#4, 5-1) can outrun main pace rival Vulcan (ironically trained by Brad Cox) and wire this $50K conditioned claiming sprint. The tag seems more realistic than negative, he just failed to stay two turns at CBY, and the horse that beat him sprinting at Lone Star is pretty talented / fast. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  3:30 BEL 6th MR. SHORTANDSIMPLE (#4, 10-1) may not be able to run at all anymore but he has bounced back from a series of poor efforts before and getting back over fast dirt (should those conditions prevail) can only be a positive for him; has some speed when he's right and he is much better than his recent form makes him look. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  3:55 KEE 6th TWIRLING SAVI (#4, 8-1) debuts for trainer Mac Robertson but did all the prep for save the last drill for first start with Mac's dad, Hugh Robertson, over the summer at Arlington. $300K, the 2yo auction price for this filly, is a big number for the Robertsons, and there's likely a good reason this filly didn't debut at AP, M Robertson's summer base at CBY, or at HAW, where H Robertson has the bulk of his stock right now. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race 4:06 GP 7th SHADILEE (#4, 9-2) drops, adds blinkers and with experience over synthetic surface having turned in credible effort at Turfway in 2020 finale. Looks like good fit with these. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  4:40 GP 8th FRONT LOADED (#1, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race  4:42 BEL 8th IT'S GRAVY (#7, 10-1) didn't improve on turf over the summer despite having some pedigree for that surface, and he wanted no part of that distance last time vs. much better horses; cuts back to a mile while to make just his second start in this condition. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  4:45 WO 1st SHAKOO MAKOO (#3, 6-1) has had a break since a subpar showing Aug. 6, when he was claimed by a trainer who's won with two droppers here recently. The son of Reload has some turf breeding and shouldn't mind the surface change to that surface. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 5:14 GP 9th BUFFALO MAX (#8, 10-1) has benefit of three starts on a synthetic surface, one of those resulting in runner-up finish while exiting a couple of troubled trips in last pair. Slight edge in wide open finale. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  5:17 BEL 9th ENJOY SUMMER (#3, 12-1) took some money for her debut sprinting early in the Saratoga meet and came up completely empty in what had to be considered a disappointing run; Terranova has excellent numbers with horses like this and this filly has the pedigree to really appreciate stretching out. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  5:47 MED 5th TITRATE (#1, 6-1) has speed and draws inside and will take them as far as he can on the front end; he stopped on a loose lead in his latest but he as going 1 1/8 miles there, and he was facing better. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  5:52 WO 3rd BURNING MAN (#3, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race 6:23 WO 4th FINALIST (#5, 6-1) set a moderate pace before giving way late to favored Frost Over when second in a blanket finish in a shorter N1X route Sept. 11. The son of Tonalist has trained well since and should be dangerous with blinkers off. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 8:22 WO 8th NAITAKA (#8, 8-1) dominated $5K NW2 distaffers after pressing a slow pace three weeks ago, when she was claimed by connections who won a recent race at Fort Erie. She has the highest last-out Tapeta Beyer in this $10K NW3 contest, and Wilson is sticking with her. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  9:03 RP 3rd LEMON DROP TINI (#4, 5-1) finished in front of some of these last out when second at this same level. She's well-versed in the turf route field. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race 9:14 MED 6th BAND SWEETHEART (#5, 9-2) has some of the best Beyers in the field and she ran very well in her latest, rallying nicely to miss by just a half-length; back to five panels, and while she may be better going a sixteenth longer she can win this if she's able to run to her most recent figures. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race  10:27 RP 6th SOONER SKUTA (#8, 6-1) is a class play as one who has seen steeper. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race
