Drops to softer spot for high percentage barn. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  12:59 LRL 2nd PRINCE PERE (#5, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). |Get PPs for this race  1:08 GPW 3rd With an excellent chance of post time this one will get moved to dirt, STARSHIP NALA (#5, 8-1) looms major player as only member of the field having won on dirt, doing so three times earlier in career. Half sis to multi-milionaire Starship Tribbles may be quick enough to steal this one gate to wire if away cleanly this time around. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  1:28 BEL 3rd EQUANT (#2, 10-1) and MOON SWEEPER debuted in the same race going six last month, where they both made wide runs from off the pace before flattening out. EQUANT wound up having to steady a bit behind MOON SWEEPER and was stuck wide around the turn before tiring, and she is bred to do better with time and distance as a half to stout route winners Evaluator and Klickitat. -Mike Beer |Get PPs for this race  1:32 LRL 3rd TUFF BUT FAIR (#2, 9-2) breezed a furlong in 10 2/5 seconds prior to the most recent auction and is by a very precocious sire (Violence clicks with 19% of juvenile debut runners). The dam, a Grade 3-winning turf router (also third in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom behind Zenyatta), is a half-sister to Grade 1 Stephen Foster winner Macho Again and has foaled five winners from as many runners. Like the combination of speed over stamina in this pedigree and Claudio Gonzalez is 5 for the last 15 (33%, $3.13 ROI) with juvenile debut runners on dirt. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  :: Want to get your Past Performances for free? Caught slop and tough post when finally dropped to this level last month. Could wake up at a bit of a price. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  2:33 BEL 5th TILL THEN (#6, 6-1) made a nice appearance in the paddock prior to his debut, then showed good speed on a solid pace before settling for 2nd; couldn't make the top in his second start before missing the entirety of his 3yo campaign; bred for this surface and showed enough potential early on to give her a chance here at a price. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  2:37 LRL 5th Looking for a price here and JOHNG (#7, 12-1) should be ready for his best of the form cycle as he makes his third start following a 309-day layoff. Thought he ran better than it looks two back sprinting in an off-the-turf race. Broke okay, tracked the pace while three wide and in between foes, and tried hard all the way to the wire. The third-finisher from that race returned to finish second with a 57 Beyer. Tried sprinting on the turf last time and that might not be his game. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  3:06 BEL 6th ALLEY OOP JOHNNY (#7, 5-1) had no excuse last time when leading on a moderate pace, though that distance may have been a bit too far for him; had tougher trips in his two prior starts upon arriving in this barn, and his form from earlier this year was solid; one more chance cutting back with speed. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. 4:57 KEE 8th TAKAFUMI (#2, 15-1) ran poorly in his first two starts this year but finally, last out, third race after the long break, looked something more like the sharp debut winner from 2019. Unknown on dirt, but could see him taking another step forward, which puts him squarely in the mix at a price. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  5:20 BEL 10th HACHURE (#1, 6-1) a Tapit hombred who is a sister to seven winners from this dam, all of them turf winners, including Group 1 winner Announce and Group 3 winner Mexican Gold; Mott quietly having a solid year with his juveniles. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  5:30 KEE 9th LESSONS FROM AVERY (#8, 15-1) a two-time winner in four KEE turf starts, and in her most recent try on the local lawn, which came last October, she raced fresh off a long layoff, had a wide post, and though seventh was beaten only 3.5 lengths. Looking for her late, wide move to be effective over what figures to be a soft-ish turf course. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race  6:08 WO 4th REDHAIR N FRECKLES (#8, 5-1) closed wide for third when debuting at this bottom level Sept. 17, but she was ineffective after getting bumped at the break two weeks later for $15K. The 5yo should be a late threat under Nicholls, who rode two of this barn's winners at the meet. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  :: Start earning weekly cashback on your wagering today. She seems capable of tracking all the speed before making a bid in the manner of her second-place finish in a July 18 optional claimer. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  7:44 SA 8th VANDER KELEN (#4, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free). | Get PPs for this race  8:08 WO 8th KISSOFFIRE (#13, 15-1) won two straight seven-furlong conditioned claimers with Beyers in the mid-70s on the Tapeta in the summer, before struggling in his last two outings on the inner turf. Despite his wide draw, he could be along in time with Moran taking over. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race  8:14 SA 9th One more chance for SQUARED SHADY (#1, 2-1), a Square Eddie maiden switching to turf and adding blinkers. Her first two starts were better than they look. She broke slowly from the rail in her promising third-place debut. Next out, after her training was compromised by smoke from the fires, she was not quick early, made a middle move through the turn while losing ground, then flattened out. Not bad, under the circumstances. The addition of blinkers is intended to produce speed; turf could be what she wants. Square Eddies are super running short on grass. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
