Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:00 KEE 1st One thing I really like about MAGNETIC BEACH (#9, 8-1) here is that she's not any of the horses - I have a really hard time getting behind any of them that've raced, and while this is a tough distance for a debut, and the barn does not excel with first-timers, she's well drawn and has posted quick enough works. – Marcus Hersh 1:45 WO 2nd UNCLE'S THE BANKER (#7, 8-1) battled five-wide for the lead on the turn before fading late to third in a deceptively good performance in another bottom-level maiden dash two weeks ago. Nicholls and Hall are a combined 8 for 42 at the meet. – Ron Gierkink  2:04 KEE 3rd AS CATCH CAN (#8, 6-1) in her second start and turf debut finished fastest in a Saratoga maiden route won by Reining Flowers, subsequently a close third in the P G Johnson and an allowance-race favorite later on this card. Didn't do anything wrong in the CNL maiden victory, and the runner-up there returned to win the Selima at Laurel, albeit in a race rained off grass. Stalking trip seems the way to go in a race with speed. Could she be as high as 6-1? – Marcus Hersh 2:44 BAQ 5th KAIRYU (#6, 5-1) went 2 for 2 sprinting on turf and was a Group 3 winner prior to shipping over; finished gamely though some stretch traffic in the Soaring Softly over this course and distance in May, then improved when coming up just short in another stakes race at Saratoga; conceded the early lead in that rich Grade 2 last time, and wound up in traffic all through the stretch while never appearing to come clear to challenge vs a strong field; just needs a trip. – Mike Beer  3:40 KEE 6th ENCLOSURE (#1, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). 4:04 GP 7th BOTH SIDES (#9, 8-1) ran well in defeat dropping for this tag while catching muddy strip last time, chasing home Major Pryce and Miguel's Belle, both of whom returned to win again at next asking. In new hands off the claim, back to a surface he's handled well(near career best 76 Beyer on graduation day) earlier in career. – Mike Welsch 4:21 BAQ 8th DAUNT (#6, 5-1) wins infrequently (he brings a near-two-year losing streak into this) but is consistent and has held his own in some tough spots throughout his career; was away from the better inside paths when settling for third going this distance last time at Saratoga. – Mike Beer  4:53 BAQ 9th ITS SATISFACTUAL (#4, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). 5:05 GP 9th OCALA DREAM (#1, 5-1) gets shaky call in a field that has produced just a single win among the whole bunch thus far in 2024. Liked that effort in latest on the Tapeta behind likes of Fly the W early this summer and expecting he'll be back over the synthetic again today. Best good enough to spring what would be the upset in finale. – Mike Welsch 5:09 WO 8th CONFUSING (#2, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).  5:16 KEE 9th Looking now over the entirety of DATAMAN's (#4, 8-1) form, wonder if trainer H G Motion didn't cut him back to one mile last out at Kentucky Downs to sharpen the 4yo for this first try over 1 1/2 miles. Didn't have much of a trip that race or in the United Nations, and he could quietly still be moving forward. Expect at least the published odds if not higher. – Marcus Hersh  7:00 SA 2nd This soft race for Cal-bred maiden-claiming 2yos is a good spot for an upset by first-time starter EMPIRE WARRIOR (#2, 10-1). His works at San Luis Rey Downs look decent on paper, and though maidens trained by Richard Baltas typically race into condition rather than fire first out, perhaps 'WARRIOR can be an exception. He is the first runner from an allowance-caliber dam who had speed; debut juvenile progeny of Classic Empire won 11 percent (that is average) per Formulator. Tab for an upset. – Brad Free
