DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
:quality(75))
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:15 BEL 2nd PINELAND (#7, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get Past Performances for this race
1:25 BEL 4th BUZZER BEATER (#2, 5-1) faded in the late stages of her dirt debut but she did flash good speed in that sprint, which set up well for the closers due to the race flow (note the bold "C" in pp line); there isn't much established early zip in this field, and she does draw inside, which could mean she's able to shake loose in the opening stages and control the tempo. -Kenny Peck | Get Past Performances for this race
1:46 LRL 4th SPENCER TIARA (#2, 6-1) clearly needed time off when she sharply regressed in her last start at Delaware in July; the McMahon trainee has done very little shipping over the course of her career, so waiting for Laurel to return and keeping her home is probably the right idea; speed is the name of the game here and she has fired fresh off similar breaks in the past. - Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race
1:50 GP 4th DON'T TELL BERT (#8, 12-1) is by a 13% debut sire (all sire stats are for 2YO's only). His dam went 23-14-6-1 and earned 246K (won 2YO debut). Both sibs won (3-1-0-0 for 13K and 15-3-3-1 for 58K). Works are well spaced and this gelding draws the attack post in his debut. - Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race
2:47 LRL 6th DIVINE MOUSSE (#10, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Patrick Moquin). | Get Past Performances for this race
3:05 GP 6th CASABLANCA QUEEN (#12, 8-1) sure did look good breaking her maiden on this sod going two turns in her second start. Someone must have agreed as this filly wanted stakes foes at Kentucky Downs in only her third start. Things didn't work out that day yet connections want another stakes. That should bode well. Win rider returns in Reyes. This post hurts a tad but a good price more than makes up for it. - Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race
4:35 BEL 9th YAUPON DE REPLAY (#2, 6-1) will likely be looking to come from off the pace in her U. S. debut but there does seem to be enough pace to the outside to help set her up; trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. has solid stats with private acquisitions as well as with foreign imports making their first starts off a 90+ day layoff over the past four years, with four winners from 15 starters (27%) and nine of those runners hitting the board. - Kenny Peck | Get Past Performances for this race
5:05 GP 9th KHON HAN (#6, 10-1) may not have cared for either the turf or the synth in his last three starts. With that said, he did beat over half the field home two back versus better and without Lasix. His last race came back key when 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 79 and 79 (another finished 2nd with a 75 Beyer). We like how this guy won his only start going two turns on the dirt. Race flow is fine and we like that Reyes keeps the call (27% for team Lopez). - Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race
5:45 WO 8th VOLCANIC (#8, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get Past Performances for this race
6:15 WO 9th FRIENDLY (#12, 8-1) was bumped at the break and raced wide throughout over an inside/biased track when third off a layoff two weeks ago. His wide draw in this large field is a negative, but he could be dangerous with the aforementioned tightener under his girth. - Ron Gierkink | Get Past Performances for this race
8:15 SA 9th This maiden race for 2-year-olds at a mile on turf will have a maximum of nine runners, and features several interesting prospects. CHARACTER (#5, 5-1) finished a good third in a six-furlong maiden race on turf here on Oct. 11 in his first start as a gelding. The longer distance may help Character, a half-brother to Integrity, a maiden race winner at a mile on turf at Gulfstream Park in April. - Steve Andersen | Get Past Performances for this race
10:18 RP 7th GUN PARTY (#2, 5-1) has been disappointing of late but the wonderfully bred 5yo might benefit from his last, his first start in three months, and it's encouraging there's no big drop. He's worked steadily and frequently since his last go. - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
10:46 RP 8th GREELY'S GOLD (#4, 8-1) was gone a couple months but came back a new horse here Sept. 12, blasting maiden claimers. She's now asked to deal with winners but it's encouraging she's not again risked for a tag and again the manner of that win caught the eye. It's also nice there's not another layoff for a barn having a super meet and these are all maiden winners-only so the class hike isn't as big as it might otherwise be. - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
11:14 RP 9th FLORAS ORA (#3, 9-2) was not only in deep last time here Oct. 16 that run also came on yielding ground. She's down in class and provided the ground is firmer can bounce back. - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
