:quality(75))
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:20 GP 1st GENESIS OMEGA (#3, 4-1) a new face in a weak looking bottom level maiden claiming spot. Has shown speed in the a.m. on occasions while working pretty steadily for his debut for quite some time. Lack of recent published works bit of a concern but wouldn't have to be much to score at first asking here. - Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race
1:05 WO 1st MASTERFUL MOMENT (#2, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get Past Performances for this race
1:22 GP 3rd SLEW DIVA (#6, 5-1) ran against the grain of the race set up when second best with same kind last out. One of only a couple in here to have won against wide opening, bottom level claiming company. Might get loose, not look back today. - Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race
1:37 WO 2nd HAILEYS OLIVIA (#1, 12-1) showed little during a wide trip with the rail far out in lane 4 when sixth behind two next-out winners while debuting against tougher on the inner turf July 5--the winner subsequently ran second vs. $15K non-two types with a 56 Beyer. The daughter of under-rated sire Big Screen could make an impact in this long sprint on the Tapeta at what figures to be a square price. - Ron Gierkink | Get Past Performances for this race
1:38 LRL 4th JERSEY CORN (#5, 8-1) is a standout by debuting juvenile standards and is shipping from Parx in search of a turf course for Pino, who has only sent out two first-time starters on the turf in the last five years (1-for-2); sire Corniche has been white-hot with his first crop, striking at a 20% rate with 30 firsters; less to say about the unraced dam but there's a ton of turf in the pedigree; his workouts at Parx have been sharp. - Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race
2:26 GP 5th SEVEN OF HEARTS (#10, 6-1) one of five debut runners in this puzzling MSW turf dash that features an absolute ton of early speed. A $225K yearling purchase and kin to a couple of six figure earners. Showed promise from gate here on 9/20, well drawn outside and with red hot jock up. Tab board for further clues. - Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race
2:36 KEE 4th SOUTHERN WHISPER's (#10, 8-1) lone start was so poor that it's probably best just ignored - it's why, if nothing else, he's in for $50K tag here rather than in an MSW, but he's since been gelded, and $50K is a pretty high price for a horse who showed as little as he did. We're guessing at what in his training has prompted connections to still value him this highly - was based at Ellis Park, and we've got no workout video. I have no doubt he faces far lesser than on debut. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race
3:23 BEL 5th GUS'S BOY (#6, 8-1) had show n some ability in the mornings prior to his debut at Saratoga, but ran like a horse who probably needed the race for fitness; was professional early, settling into a stalking position and ranging up menacingly on the far turn; just came up empty when called upon at the 1/4-pole; should have benefited from that start, and now cuts back in distance; his dam was best as a turf sprinter, so this placement makes sense. - David Aragona | Get Past Performances for this race
4:04 GP 8th FINDING STRENGTH (#9, 5-1) showed ton of promise at 2 now returns off a year's hiatus so fitness to be key to her chances in main event. Limited but sharp looking work tab prepping for return. Well drawn outside, gets Lasix for first time. Lots to like off the bench. - Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race
4:31 BEL 7th COCKTAILSNKRINGLE (#4, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (David Aragona). | Get Past Performances for this race
4:44 KEE 8th BEAUTIFUL WAR (#4, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). | Get Past Performances for this race
4:53 WO 8th INTERIM ANALYSIS (#10, 10-1) would look good in this $15K conditioned claimer if it comes off the grass. He rarely runs a bad one on the Tapeta for his high-percentage trainer and Fukumoto can make the most of his tactical speed. - Ron Gierkink | Get Past Performances for this race
5:05 BEL 8th This feels like a good spot to go price-shopping, as all of the likely favorites have their flaws; WAR STRIDE (#4, 12-1) really hasn't had a fair chance to show his true ability on turf at any point in his career; showed some promise back in April, but that was coming off a layoff; then found himself buried in traffic to mid-stretch on June 20; most recently he was hung 4-wide all the way around the turn on Sep. 19; is now back at the right distance, and may be in better form than it appears as he gets another shot on grass. - David Aragona | Get Past Performances for this race
5:16 KEE 9th I dislike all the shorter morning-line prices here. 6 1/2 furlongs, especially with an outside draw leading to a clean stalking trip, seems like the right distance for EXECUTIVE CHEF (#11, 20-1), while $25K claiming seems like a reasonable class level. Always difficult parsing the Pacific Northwest form, but this horse has a good work pattern and looks like at 20-1 on the line. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race
5:38 BEL 9th Doubt that BABY DANCER (#3, 8-1) was going to win her debut at 73-1, but she certainly would have finished closer to the winner if she hadn't gotten completely sawed off in traffic when attempting to split horses in mid-stretch; long-striding daughter of War Dancer traveled well into the race and looked full of run before getting jostled repeatedly and losing all her momentum; will be a much shorter price this time, but might actually have some talent based on the evidence of her debut. - David Aragona | Get Past Performances for this race
5:48 KEE 10th Two work videos for RYU (#9, 10-1) hint at a first-time starter ready to make some noise debuting in a turf route MSW. Has broken well from the gate and would love to see him take up a forward position. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race
7:56 MED 3rd GOLD TRUST (#2, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get Past Performances for this race
7:59 RP 2nd PAYNT BALL (#9, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Michael Hammersly).| Get Past Performances for this race
7:30 SA 8th The first-time starters FIERY TIGER (#4, 10-1) and LUCKY TAMMY (#10, 5-1) are preferred in that order in a $20,000 claimer for maiden statebred 2-year-old fillies. Many of the runners with starts have shown little. Fiery Tiger is trained by Brian Koriner, who won with two juvenile first-time starters at Del Mar during the summer. Fiery Tiger is a full-sister to Tiger Lady, who won her debut as a 2-year-old at Del Mar in the summer of 2025. Lucky Tammy had a solid gate work of 47.40 seconds on Oct. 5 and a few works in the preceding six weeks on the quick side. She is trained by Dean Pederson who does not have many 2-year-old debut runners, but has won with two horses in that category in the last three years. - Steve Andersen | Get Past Performances for this race
