DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Friday, November 19, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:30 GP 1st NEW YORK'S FINEST (#8, 9-2) back home and facing similar that he defeated on the turf here during the spring. Exits key race at Belmont that produced two next out winners and two next out runner-up finishes, should sit a nice stalking trip from his outside post. May just be a matter of whether he handles the Tapeta. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:49 AQU 3rd GABBY SQUARED (#10, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:03 LRL 2nd After beginning her career with a 2 for 53 record, ARBUTUS (#4, 6-1) has shown a strong desire to win recently. Rated perfectly by Leonardo Corujo as the longest shot on the board last time, she controlled a moderate pace, came off the rail turning for home, then resolutely denied favored Fairy Wish the length of the stretch. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:36 LRL 3rd Charlie Marquez wanted the lead with RUSTYS GFIVEFIFTY (#6, 6-1) last month and they looped the field on the first turn to set a pressured pace from the two path. They opened up on them turning for home and were much the best. This is a tougher spot from a pace and class standpoint, but the Divining Rod gelding seemed to appreciate two-turn dirt racing and believe he still has some upside. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:45 AQU 5th BAY JEWEL (#4, 15-1) switched to turf vs. claiming rivals earlier this year and won easily over course and distance with a good finish, an effort she then backed up with an even better one to win her next start at a price; ran better than it looks in both Saratoga starts going a bit shorter, and she got wired last time after some trouble at the start left her chasing wide; will be a price and might be better than she looks. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:14 AQU 6th BOSSHIP (#1, 20-1) is by the underrated first-out sire Street Boss and a half to three multiple winners from this dam, including two debut winners; Englehart can have his firster ready and this gelding should be a price in a wide-open race; needs to break cleanly from the rail. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:36 LRL 5th Can certainly understand anyone taking the viewpoint that ROCKIN RON (#7, 15-1) is too hard to trust as he's never cracked the exacta on fast ground and is currently on a 23-race losing streak. Think he's run better than it looks in some of his recent races, however. Came close to the Beyer par for this level over the summer at Pimlico when chasing a gate-to-wire winner over an inside, speed-friendly track. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:06 LRL 6th GODLOVESASINNER (#7, 10-1) didn't have much chance once odds-on Grateful Bred was allowed to control the pace in the Maryland Million Turf Sprint. Saved ground in midpack, split horses in the stretch and finished with a solid gallop-out. Lots of minor awards on this one's page and he'll need some hitting up front to adequately setup her one run from the back. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:14 AQU 8th EUCHARIST (#8, 12-1) ran well in his first couple of starts vs. better horses before missing time, and he did not have a great trip when dropped at Saratoga and chasing wide before tiring; willing to give him one more chance off the claim after breaking poorly and giving way on the drop last time; new trainer has done well off the claim from limited starts so far. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:23 GP 7th AFFICIONADO (#2, 8-1) hard used on front end before succumbing to late running Money Factor while handling the Tapeta nicely enough around two turns off a two month layoff to boot. Shortens up, taken to wear down speedy R NEXT ROLL if able to keep close enough to leader through early running. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:53 GP 8th PANAREA (#7, 10-1) strictly a pace/price play here with all the main contenders at their best when clear on the lead. held own behind red hot Sprout Wings two back, the latter posting second of three straight wins that day. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:30 DMR 3rd CLAMPETT (#4, 7-2) rallying from behind, or speedsters TIZLIGHTNING and HAY JUAN on the front end? The call is the closer. CLAMPETT dropped to maiden-50 last out and scored a workmanlike win, going away. He worked an easy half since that race less than three weeks ago; his style is opposite his main rivals. The speeds are legit. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:45 WO 3rd NEVAEH'S VALENTINE (#3, 10-1) raced quite wide throughout over an inside-preferred track last time while failing to threaten in a sprint. The five-time route winner should be a speed threat in this 1 1/16-mile event. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:18 WO 6th LIL BIT GANGSTA (#3, 10-1) is plunging from $25K to the lower ranks. He prefers the turf, but doesn't have much to beat here with the capable Chris Husbands climbing aboard. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
