Barn broke out of recent slump with big maiden winner over weekend. -Mike Welsch 1:10 LRL 2nd LOOKIN FOR CANDY (#10, 6-1), a $6,000 weanling purchase, seems well-spotted at this $25,000 level for her career debut. Twirling Candy is a versatile and solid sire, and this female family has produced some precocious and speedy types. -Dan Illman 2:05 GP 5th MOMENTO (#1, 5-1) came from off pace after unlucky start, wide trip to win latest at Tampa but with enough speed to be forwardly place if away cleanly from the rail. One of only two multiple winners in this lineup. -Mike Welsch :: Bet the races online with DRF Bets. New members get $250 bonus 2:15 LRL 4th BENANDJOE (#4, 10-1) never got a breather when a good third before the break. He dueled along the inside with eventual last-place finisher Tappahannock (beaten 22 1/4 lengths) through some fast fractions for the first 5 1/2 furlongs, then was immediately set upon by the stalkers once he tucked that foe into bed. Although never looking like a winner, he stayed on to be beaten less than a length and galloped out with some interest. Perhaps he’ll have an easier time of it sitting just off Twirling Liz in the early going. -Dan Illman 2:55 BEL 4th FROZEN ACCOUNT (#8, 8-1) bombed last time and, obviously, has to rebound in order to contend here; hopeful that he can do that based on his debut, where he raced on gamely late to get 3rd at a big price after racing very greenly early. -Dan Illman 3:09 GP 7th STEADILY (#3, 8-1) likely wanted no part of wet track in latest. Previous tries with this company good enough to get job done at a bit of a price. -Mike Welsch 3:59 BEL 6th ONEMOREGREATTIME (#1, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). 3:59 BEL 6th THE RIGHT PATH (#6, 12-1), despite the modest PRX performance going 6f Sept. 29, looks like a horse crying for a cutback to sprints. Keep in mind he easily beat the highlevel Performer while making his debut in an AQU sprint. Trainer sending them ready off Colts Neck Farm workouts. - Marcus Hersh :: Get the DRF GamePlan Playbook each day with a DRF+ Pro subscription. He’ll get a class quiz stepping up the ladder here, but he has the tactical speed to stalk the pace and shouldn’t be too far away when the real running begins. Chased a runaway pacesetter under a very confident ride last time, took over with ease on the turn and was off to the races. -Dan Illman 5:04 BEL 8th LOST TICKET (#6, 8-1) faces a difficult turn back here but she had an impossible wide trip in the Herecomesthebride off the maiden win and returned to run better than it looks when keeping after a fast pace an only giving in late to closers last time; dirtied up enough to give her a chance. -Mike Beer :: To stay up to date, follow DRF on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter 6:00 BEL 10th ARKAAN (#5, 20-1) is by Declaration of War, who already has sired several promising maiden winners of 2020, and out of a dam who traces through an excellent female family. Put the pedigree together with very encouraging work pattern, trainer that wins with first-timers, and the expected odds and we’ve got a play. - Marcus Hersh 6:08 BEL 10th UNCLE GEORGE (#9, 8-1) a $310k yearling purchase by Uncle Mo and he is a halfbrother to the excellent turf sprinter Epping Forrest, who also raced for this trainer; Clement 7 for his last 42 with first time starters in turf sprints (17%, $2.73 ROI) and also has an incredible 11 runnerup finishes in that sample. -Mike Beer 6:44 SA 7th MONGOL ALTAI (#7, 6-1) drops from maiden special-weight to maiden-25 for the second start of his career. The race he exits was highly rated; winner Shooter’s Shoot returned to win an allowance and is expected in the Santa Anita Derby field on Saturday. MONGOL ALTAI could be positioned closer to the lead while facing easier company. -Brad Free :: Want to get your Past Performances for free? Click to learn more.
