12:00 GP 1st DRIVEN BY THUNDER (#10, 4-1) tepid nod amongst numerous logical contenders in the opener which features a ton of pace. Drops to weakest level yet, has back class to beat theese. Blew out smartly for this on main. -Mike Welsch

1:44 LRL 3rd It’s fair to wonder if HAZ A NOTION (#3, 8-1) is using this sprint start as a springboard to something longer in the future, but he picked up his game in his last two starts on turf. On September 15, he prompted the fast pace set by favored Seville Barber (finished sixth, next-out 73-Beyer winner), opened up on that one on the turn and tired late. -Dan Illman

1:50 BEL 2nd BUSTIN TO PLEASE (#2, 7-2) one of three likely to take money in here, all of them going off the claim and all of them with speed, and she figures to be the best price come post time after chasing Letmetakethiscall to no avail when last seen in a race that came back fast for the level; Arriaga is underrated off the claim - past five years, first after claimed by, dirt: 8 for 38, 21%, $3.13 ROI - and this filly has won without the early lead before. -Mike Beer

2:37 GP 6th KINGSVILLE (#8, 6-1) getting plenty of class relief off series of dull effort although did get buried on dead rail last time. Expecting big improvement vs this easier bunch. -Mike Welsch

3:09 GP 7th TIPSY AGAIN (#8, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch).

3:27 BEL 5th Debuting in maiden claiming races hasn’t been a winning move for Asmussen over time but his KEEP DREAMIN (#5, 8-1) appears to have landed in a likely spot, assuming she can run at all; shows up with a steady series of five-furlong works and the pedigree to be forward early being out of a dam who won the first two starts of her career (sprinting on turf) and a sister to Mission Trip, who also began for a tag and won three times from his first seven career starts. -Mike Beer

3:51 LRL 7th DIRTYFOOT (#5, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman).

4:00 SA 1st AFFIANCED (#5, 5-2) stretches to a mile following a sharp maiden win. The distance should be fine based on pedigree: by More Than Ready and produced by a graded stakes-winning route dam whose first three foals won at a distance. This is a step up in class for AFFIANCED, but if she rations her speed she could be gone. -Brad Free

4:13 GP 9th INTER MIAMI (#4, 6-1) dueled from deeper going inside, faded late when last sighted a couple of months earlier in a race from which top pair won their next starts. Tagged tagged for first time since graduation day here. -Mike Welsch

6:08 BEL 10th RELIABILITY (#4, 8-1) needed his first two starts then improved noticeably when stretched out a bit last time while getting caught wide and just getting nailed late by a sharp closer after dueling and bumping in the stretch; dam was a major Group 1 winner going this distance in Europe. -Mike Beer

6:13 SA 5th UNUSUALLY HANDSOME (#7, 5-2) was significantly hampered at a crucial point here last time out when trying to make a run in the lane. Cuts back to what may be a better distance, goes from open to restricted and lures the leading rider. – Michael Hammersly
