2:23 GP 4th PAY ZONE (#6, 7-2) just ran a Beyer top and did so going seven furlongs off a layoff which is no picnic. This gelding draws better today and keeps Zayas. This gelding has some speed to help his trip and seems to like his new barn. Did you notice those sharp works before his return win? – Scott Ehlers
2:54 WO 4th STYLISH GENT (#4, 12-1) has won three in a row dating back to November, when he dusted $5K claimers going seven-eighths on the Tapeta with a career high 79 Beyer. The front-runner could keep his roll going here off back-to-back scores on the dirt at Assiniboia. – Ron Gierkink
3:40 BAQ 6th Liked the 21-flat OBS March workout for SHE'S OUR TIZ (#7, 6-1), who has the look of a horse that might take to grass; Munnings is a strong 14% turf sprint sire, and the dam achieved her highest Beyer on turf despite not winning on grass; shows a quick gate workout in the middle of June. – David Aragona
3:52 MTH GROUP TICKET (#3, 6-1) is unproven at two turns and untested at this distance on the dirt but he has proven speed when he's sent long and he should be prominent from the start; sub-par Beyer in that last one can be attributed to the fact that he was off the pace in a sprint lacking speed. – Kenny Peck
4:11 BAQ 7th MISTICAL CURLIN (#2, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (David Aragona).
4:59 WO 8th FRACEN MACHO (#8, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).
5:13 BAQ 9th With routine improvement through maturity, ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY (#2, 6-1) should fit well against this group; she didn't run that fast in either start as a 2YO, but was competitive against some legitimate foes, not getting ideal trips either time; plus Danny Gargan is 13-for-44 (30%, $2.22 ROI) off layoffs of 150 to 300 days over 5 years; she's bred to be a good one, and should be fit since she's been entered and scratched prior to this. – David Aragona
5:23 MTH 8th SENOR PICKLES (#7, 8-1) is out of a dam who won 10 races, eight of them dirt sprints, and she has produced three winners from as many starters, including God Still Loves Me, a sprinter who won three races from 21 starts; sports a full recent work tab and meets a seemingly average field for the class level. – Scott Ehlers
