Debra A. Roma First post for Saratoga racing is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. ET on Friday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

1:00 WO 1st BLACK THUNDER's (#5, 20-1) 2025 form was dismal, but the 4yo has worked well in advance of his return from a 10-month layoff and could be much improved in his first start as a gelding. -Ron Gierkink | Get Past Performances for this race

1:32 WO 2nd Following a trainer change, KNOWING (#1, 12-1) could improve enough to get the money in his fourth start off the sidelines. The closer has loads of speed to chase and figures to save ground after breaking from the rail under apprentice Douglas. -Ron Gierkink | Get Past Performances for this race

2:05 CNL 4th PARTY GUEST (#5, 8-1) ran once as a juvenile and finished 11 lengths back in a five-furlong dirt sprint at Monmouth; he will switch to turf in his 3-year-old debut, and there's a ton in the pedigree to support this switch; sire The Factor has produced multiple graded stakes winners on turf, with grass runners comprising most of his top progeny; the dam Party Boat was a multiple graded-stakes-placed runner on turf who has produced two winners on the surface, including stakes winner and current stablemate Cruise the Nile. -Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race

2:14 SAR 3rd TRUST FUND (#7, 8-1) worked his way into form after returning from a long layoff early last year, and he capped off a three-race winning streak with a score over this track in this condition last summer; he has held that form without a break since then, with some legit excuses for the apparent "off" races along the way; best effort makes him competitive as he drops back into a better spot to make his second start off the claim. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race

2:34 MTH 2nd STARVIEW TWINKLE (#7, 5-1) gets back on the main track, and though she owns a win on the green this may be her best surface; she has tactical speed and should be well spotted from the start, and against this group (the $150,000 price tags notwithstanding) she may be too good if she gets a clean trip and the right set up. -Kenny Peck | Get Past Performances for this race

2:35 CNL 5th HIDE N WATCH (#8, 6-1) did little running in his debut at Churchill Downs last time out, suffering a bad trip that also will probably prove instructive going forward; Hamm chooses his spots at Churchill carefully, so it's telling that he chose to ship this juvenile from Belterra to face such a tough field; both sides of the pedigree point more to sprinting, but he has been training for distance recently and seems to be handling it rather well; Lopez lands on this one in a field filled to the brim with fascinating options. -Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race

3:20 SAR 5th DAPPER MOON (#7, 6-1) failed to stretch out effectively after a promising start to his career on this track a couple of summers ago. He looked good while rallying to win back-to-back starts earlier this year, then raced closer to the pace before being forced to try to rally up the rail in that last one; versatile 4yo needs his best, but he can go with these horses at a fair price. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race

3:36 CNL 7th CLAWLESS BRIT (#10, 10-1) has won three of her last four starts for Russell and simply seems to be climbing the ladder until someone stops her; this could easily be that start, as she has not yet faced competition as tough as this; on the other hand, that could have been said last time as well and she took care of business with an 80 Beyer; a few scratches will probably help her here and she stacks up against a classy bunch. -Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race

4:07 CNL 8th RIVER CITY RUNNER (#6, 8-1) took a nice step forward on dirt last time out, chasing just off the early speed and holding to win with a 43 Beyer; his only prior turf start wasn't particularly strong, but the argument can be made that his improved form on dirt could mark general progression; the key here is that he's a recent winner in a field full of win-shy contenders, though there are obvious knocks on the Trombetta trainee. -Patrick Moquin | Get Past Performances for this race

5:40 SAR 9th IRON ORCHARD (#2, 5-1) impressed winning the first two starts of her career over this track while flashing big speed; proved that she can rate and run when taking the Grade 1 Frizette over a mile before an unsuccessful trip to California for the Breeders' Cup that is hard to hold against her; has changed hands since last seen, but she still has plenty of upside, and she appears to be training forwardly for her return. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race

6:16 SAR 10th RARE ECLIPSE (#8, 10-1) faced a much tougher field in his debut here last summer, and he failed to break sharply from the gate in that spot; improved in his next turf start when bumped hard at the break, before finishing gamely to no avail; looks well-spotted returning to the grass to make her first start for Brion. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race
