DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Friday, December 4, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:15 TAM 1st GHOSTED (#3, 7-2) appears to be the pacesetter by default in this opener, whih is a little light on obvious speed; she was a game winner when last seen, at Prairie Meadows, and the resulting Beyer gives her strong credibility with these. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:50 AQU 2nd MISS DRACARYS (#8, 15-1) a half to turf stakes winner Up the Ante as well as the speed dirt sprinter Aristocratic, from the family of the versatile Dominus, a graded stakes winner on both turf and dirt; trainer has only saddled five debut winners over the past five years, but four of them have come on turf, including winners at 27:1 and 20:1. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:54 LRL 2nd Perhaps the key to DOUBLE FIREBALL’s (#1, 9-2) success is his pre-race behavior as he has a tendency to get worked up behind the starting gate. That happened prior to his local debut and he faltered as the longest shot on the tote in a race won by odds-on Liv and Let Liv. This seems like a better spot from a class perspective. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:45 AQU 4th HERSH (#10, 7-2) posted his lone win over two years ago when rallying to score in his second career start with an 88 Beyer; hasn’t panned out since that promising run but he fits this race well from a projected pace and trip perspective as he makes his first start for Atras. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:15 AQU 5th GRACEFULLY WILD (#8, 12-1) brought $100k following a strong-looking breeze in 10- flat back in June and has some pedigree to back her up behind a half to three winners from this dam, including Gandy Dancing, a debut winner over this track earlier this year with a 73 Beyer, and an allowance winner shortly thereafter with an 86. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:23 LRL 5th TAMBORA (#3, 9-2) looked good in first start following a summer vacation as he went fast from beginning to end over a sloppy track. Seven-time winner doesn’t need the lead to win and might end up sitting just off ZITARROSA and Higher Purpose. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:36 GP 5th REMARKABLE SILVER (#1, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:48 TAM 6th THE CURT FOX (#1, 10-1) doesn’t have much tactical speed but he gets a favorable race flow in this optional claimer and he should be able to save ground behind a quick, contested pace today, and he’ll be rolling through the lane if he gets that type of set up; winless since July but he faced better in those Presque Isle Downs races, and he didn’t always get help from the speeds. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:53 LRL 6th Trainer Brittany Russell went 9 for 23 (39%, $2.20 ROI) between November 8 and November 28 and she deserves a tremendous amount of credit for having TEQUILA FOG (#1, 6-1) ready to roll following a 420-day layoff. Wearing blinkers for the first time, she set a pressured pace along the inside and kept on trucking in the stretch. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:22 TAM 7th CAPTUREMENOW (#6, 2-1) was off the board in her first start in over nine months but while that was likely a prep for this move back to the turf she didn’t run badly in defeat, and she galloped out nicely past the wire; grass figures plenty good enough if she can run to them in her second start back. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:50 TAM 8th PATSY’S BIG GIRL (#6, 8-1) is from a dam who posted both of her two career wins on the grass but her lone starter to race did score on the main track; works suggest she’s ready for her debut for trainer Tim Hamm, who wins at a strong rate with 1sters. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:06 GP 8th THE ICE BEAST (#4, 15-1) sheds the blinkers returning from long layoff after showing promise early at 2. Recent gate drill a good one. Should have plenty of pace to run at in here. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:13 AQU 9th MAKE IT IN NY (#1, 12-1) drops right away and was immediately gelded after lacking early interest in his MSW debut to get far back outrun; found very late momentum in that race and appeared to put in a nice run past the wire once things were decided. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:18 LRL 9th CREATIVE ALIBI (#9, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:36 GP 9th MYAMANOI (#8, 9-2) with only a single start under his belt since March but working well on both turf and dirt returning locally for first time since sharp effort in the Dania Beach. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:06 GP 10th SOUPER JAGUAR (#4, 12-1) drops a notch below level he was claimed for last time, has the speed to take these from coast to coast on front end. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:58 LRC 5th Non-competitive her first two starts vs. special-weight maidens, ELEGANT SILK (#6, 9-2) drops to maiden-20 for a Northern California outfit that does well MSW-to-MCL. Trainer Steven Sherman is 9-for-30 with the move the past five years. First start in three and a half months, this filly looks ready to fire against a modest group. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
