Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. Post Time: 12:50 ET Track: Gulfstream (1st Race) Horse: CROWN SEEKER (#7, 3-1) CROWN SEEKER is by a 0 for 10 debut turf sire. His dam went 11-6-2-1 on the green and earned 460K (won turf debut). Three sibs raced in the U.S. and two were multiple turf winners (585K and 162K). Both won their turf debuts. Two more sibs raced overseas and the best was a multiple winner in Australia and Ireland. We know this gelding can get the distance and now he tries a surface he should love. - Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 1:00 ET Track: Keeneland (1st Race) Horse: MIDNIGHT PRANKS (#4, 10-1) MIDNIGHT PRANKS 10-1 on MIDNIGHT PRANKS? I can't see it. He's established at this open $25K claiming class and in his second start since being haltered by an aggressive claiming outfit he's entered for a tag higher than the price these connections paid. Was the only one closing in that March 7 FG heat, zipping his last furlong in 12.08. And for a 6yo claimer with 27 starts, I'd call workout video of his April 1 KEE drill quite encouraging. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 1:38 ET Track: Aqueduct (2nd Race) Horse: TOGA D'ORO (#1, 7-2) No one is particularly trustworthy in this wide open conditioned claimer; at least TOGA D'ORO has had the excuse of being too ambitiously placed ever since breaking his maiden last year; finally drops to a realistic level while also circling back to his original trainer Rick Dutrow; his form looks pretty ugly, but he was legitimately eased midway through 2 of his last 3 starts, and still earned competitive figs in the surrounding races. - David Aragona | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 2:18 ET Track: Oaklawn (2nd Race) Horse: UNDERHILL'S TAB (#7, 2-1) UNDERHILL'S TAB is a DRF Best Bet - Mary Rampellini | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 2:46 ET Track: Keeneland (4th Race) Horse: PROFOUND (#2, 3-1) PROFOUND has worked a couple times recently with no less than Makers Mark starter Rhetorical, holding his own in the one such drill for which we have video. Was inside modest once-started maiden Pass and Go in the April 4 KEE drill, and thought he traveled nicely through that one, too. If nothing else, these workouts suggest a horse only raced on turf and synthetic who gets over dirt without any issue. Just hope he doesn't fall too far out of things coming off the 1 1/2-mile turf race. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 3:16 ET Track: Aqueduct (5th Race) Horse: CHARLIE CHARMER (#4, 5-1) This second division of the split 4th race came up slightly weaker; wasn't thrilled with those who have already competed at the level, so will instead give a shot to the 3YO dropper CHARLIE CHARMER he's been well-beaten in both starts, but he was wide against a rail bias on debut and then had a bit of trip when taken up and shuffled back early last time; should do better here, especially given the class relief. - David Aragona | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:00 ET Track: Gulfstream (7th Race) Horse: SWEETSTER (#4, 9-2) SWEETSTER is by a 20% debut turf sire. Her dam went 20-2-2-3 on the grass and earned 44K (won turf debut). This is her first grass foal. Works continue strong. Team Weaver are 21% with their 1st turf runners. Distance Tomlinson of 404 screams shortened sprint and this filly did win her debut going five furlongs. - Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:12 ET Track: Keeneland (7th Race) Horse: LIGHT WON UP (#5, 8-1) LIGHT WON UP is a DRF Best Bet - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:30 ET Track: Oaklawn (6th Race) Horse: PUBLICITY (#2, 5-2) PUBLICITY set the pace over a laboring kind of track last time and might be better suited if the strip is fast Friday. He owns the field's best last-race Beyer Speed Figure. - Mary Rampellini | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 5:48 ET Track: Keeneland (10th Race) Horse: MR AMERICAN PIE (#1, 15-1) MR AMERICAN PIE debuted on Turfway Tapeta - and might not have liked it. Looked like he went much better than that in dirt workout video - in fact, I was impressed with a recent local drill. Obviously needs an alert break from the fence, but if he gets out of the gate, think he can contend at a square price. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Looking for more action?
