DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for February 16, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:15 TAM 1st ISLE OF SKYE (#1, 8-1), the first starter out of the dam, has to deal with the rail, which is not ideal for experienced runners, but he has a couple of works that suggest he has some speed; barn has better long-term stats with firster than what's showing in trainer categories, and scored with a couple of firsters in 2020. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:30 GP 1st SCOTTY BROWN (#4, 3-1) a new face to the category while re-united once again with Cibelli barn. Totally over-matched in key race when last seen at Saratoga over the summer. Works prepping for return seem to indicate this guy could be up to a winning effort off bench with the right trip. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:45 TAM 2nd LADY PAYNTER (#6, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:03 GP 4th MAGNILOQUENT (#9, 3-1) exits a pretty good effort with 2 of the 4 to have returned out of here maiden winners at next asking including runner-up Living Waters for same $50K tag. Working bullets in the a.m. and addition of Lasix could prove key. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:37 GP 5th FROSTED ARMOUR (#1, 4-1) drops to cheapest level yet while back to the dirt. Pace scenario a bit of a question mark with no clear cut speed horse in lineup. Switch to Saez and rail draw both could help the cause. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:18 TAM 7th WASSER (#6, 6-1) had a legit excuse in that last one, running into traffic trouble on the turn, but she closed with interest in the lane to finish a strong third; she also had some trouble in her prior try, racing in tight on the turn, but given a clean trip today she has license to make the last run. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:18 TAM 9th FALL MOON (#6, 4-1) seemed well spotted in that that last one but she lost her best chance when she got away slowly, and was caught too far off some slow early fractions; previous try was solid and the effort three back was deceptively good, as she checked at a key point and was behind a two-speed exacta. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:32 TUP 4th SPEEDING STYLE (#6, 5-1) ran evenly in his most recent and that was his first on this dirt. Breaking 6th of 7 didn't help matters either. This guy should like today's added half furlong. We love the jock switch to Hernandez who is riding better of late. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:04 TUP 5th DODROPIN (#7, 8-1) tried two turns for the first time last out and actually ran a decent 6th losing by less than 7 lengths. That was on the turf which bodes well for today's switch to the dirt. Connections could have dropped this gal to the $3,500 level but opted to stay at this $8,500 tier. We think that is telling. A recent work is a good sign also. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
