More than 70 Thoroughbred and Standardbred stallions from eight different states and provinces will be represented as Daily Racing Form hosts an inaugural stallion season auction in the coming days. Bidding for the auction, hosted on EquiRing, by HorseCo, will open 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28. The auction will close 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30. The North American breeding season is set to begin just a few weeks hence, in early February. “In addition to being the No. 1 choice of data for horseplayers, Daily Racing Form is also the preferred source of data for breeders and horse people throughout the industry,” said Robert Forbeck, DRF’s senior vice president/national advertising director. “Plus, avid horseplayers are a great target as potential new owners for the industry. DRF delivers all of these audiences like no one else. We couldn’t be happier with the response from farms and stallion owners throughout North America.” Stallions standing in Kentucky, the epicenter of Thoroughbred breeding activity in North America, represented with seasons in the auction include two-time Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Goldencents, a successful son of leading sire and emerging sire of sires Into Mischief.
