DRF Press releases Hovdey anthology 'Long Rein'
Daily Racing Form Press on Thursday released Jay Hovdey’s, “Long Rein: Tales from the World of Horse Racing.” The hardback book is the first anthology from Hovdey, the executive columnist of Daily Racing Form , since he joined the company in 1998.
In “Long Rein,” Hovdey has selected 81 pieces from the more than 2,500 columns and features he has written for Daily Racing Form . Included in the anthology are stories covering Thoroughbreds and racing personalities including Smarty Jones, Cigar, Barbaro, Tiznow, John Henry, Affirmed, Charlie Whittingham, Gary Stevens, Rosie Napravnik, Pat Day, Chris Antley, and Bobby Frankel.
