Below are Brito's picks for the most important races on Friday’s Everest Day card at Royal Randwick.  Race 6 (Group 3 Sydney Stakes, 6 furlongs): An interesting race with good sprinters, some of them who are also-eligibles for the Everest. Our selection will be Mazu (No. 6), a 6-year-old with good experience at this racetrack who has come close in his two most recent outings, overcoming trouble. His running style should fare well with this race’s probable complexion. :: 2024 Everest Stakes: Free past performances, previews, news and more Race 7 (Group 1 Everest, 6 furlongs): The richest turf race on the planet is the main attraction of the day. We will try to get it right with I Wish I Win (No. 1), since it seems to us that he has been prepared to be in top form for this important date. Post 9 should provide a clean trip, so he will finish strongly. We hope he makes up for his second-place finish in last year’s edition of this event. Race 8 (Group 3 Silver Eagle Stakes, 6 1/2 furlongs): A very balanced test where we will lean toward War Machine (No. 10), a horse with a short campaign but with a lot of talent that has been progressing with each performance. Could make a nice double with Pride of Jenni in the following race. :: Get free past performances, analysis, and picks for Australian racing Race 9 (Group 1 King Charles III Stakes, 1 mile): It is possible that we see a lot of early speed, but we still believe that champion Pride of Jenni (No. 9) will prove best in this important race. Recently designated Australia’s Horse of the Year for 2023-24, the 7-year-old will be a special treat to close a historic day with a flourish. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
