Dreamsandvisions gets Hall of Fame win

The third time was the charm for Dreamsandvisions in the $100,000 Texas Hall of Fame Stakes at Retama Park. After running fourth in the 1 1/16-mile turf race for Texas-breds the last two years, he broke through with a half-length win Saturday night and paid $53.20.

Ablaze With Spirit finished second in the Hall of Fame, which was one of six restricted stakes worth a total of $500,000 on the card. The program is annually the richest of the meet at Retama.

Dreamsandvisions closed from well back for the win, as Haveuseenthelight dictated the pace to the stretch. Carlos Gonzalez was aboard Dreamsandvisions, who covered the distance on firm ground in 1:42.30. The winner is trained by Steven Duke.

In the other stakes:

* Gold Coyote ($3) won his turf debut in the $50,000 Watson MacManus for 3-year-olds at five furlongs. Bobby Walker Jr. was aboard for trainer Bret Calhoun.

* Pretty Squall ($26.80) defeated a field of statebred fillies and mares in the $50,000 Fiesta Mile, winning by two lengths. Diego Saenz had the mount for trainer Morris Nicks.

* Ms Classic Seneca ($12.20) rallied for a half-length win in the $50,000 Selma for 3-year-old fillies on turf. Tony McNeil was aboard for trainer Cheryl Asmussen.

* Tiffany Royal ($7.20) was uncatchable on the front end in the $125,000 fillies division of the Texas Stallion Stakes, which she won by five lengths under Luis Quinonez. She is trained by Steve Asmussen.

* Hes Boy Wonder ($10.20) drew clear by 3 3/4 lengths in the $125,000 colts and geldings division of the Texas Stallion Stakes. Steve Bourque had the mount for trainer Danny Pish.
