Dreamfyre, the winner of two Grade 3 races for 2-year-old fillies in California in 2023, will be offered as a broodmare prospect at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale in Lexington, Ky., on Nov. 4. A 3-year-old filly, Dreamfyre left trainer O.J. Jauregui’s stable at Santa Anita for Kentucky on Tuesday. Dreamfyre won 3 of 4 starts and earned $295,000 racing only in 2023. She was plagued by minor issues that prevented her from racing this year. Dreamfyre was entered in the Unzip Me Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita on Sept. 28, but was withdrawn on the morning of the race. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! All of Dreamfyre’s wins were in stakes in California – the Everett Nevin Stakes against males in her debut at the Alameda county fair in Pleasanton in July, the Grade 3 Sorrento Stakes against fillies at Del Mar in August, and the Grade 3 Surfer Girl Stakes for fillies at a mile on turf at Santa Anita last October. Dreamfyre finished ninth of 14 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf last November. By the Scat Daddy stallion Flameaway, Dreamfyre was purchased for $140,000 at the Ocala Breeders’ Sale of 2-year-olds in training in April 2023 by Dan Eplin. The Jauregui-trained Jack’s Magic Girl underwent surgery on Tuesday after sustaining a displaced condylar fracture in Sunday’s Surfer Girl Stakes on turf at Santa Anita. Jauregui said veterinarian Ryan Carpenter conducted the operation and inserted two stabilizing screws. Jack’s Magic Girl will not race again, Jauregui said. “She has a chance to be a broodmare,” he said. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
