Dream Tree returns in Prioress

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Dream Tree, undefeated in four starts, returns from a seven-month layoff in Sunday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Prioress Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at six furlongs.
It will be the first start for Dream Tree since she won the Grade 2 La Virgenes going a mile at Santa Anita on Feb. 4.
“I wasn’t happy with the way she was training,” trainer Bob Baffert said. “She was losing interest, so I just stopped on her. She’s doing well now.”
Dream Tree’s four wins include the Grade 1 Starlet at Los Alamitos last December and the Desi Arnaz Stakes at Del Mar last Nov. 18.
Dream Tree will take on nine rivals, including fellow Southern California-based Grade 1 winner Moonshine Memories, who is coming off an allowance win going 6 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar on July 19.
Also entered in the Prioress were Bronx Beauty, Cathedral Reader, Classy Act, Dream Pauline, Mia Mischief, Purrfect Miss, Sower, and Win the War.
Voodoo Song risks record
Voodoo Song will put his 5-for-5 record over Saratoga’s turf on the line against as many as five rivals in Monday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Bernard Baruch Handicap at 1 1/16 miles.
Voodoo Song, coming off a victory in the Grade 1 Fourstardave, is the 122-pound highweight under Jose Lezcano.
Entered against him were Inspector Lynley and Projected, the 1-2 finishers in the $100,000 Lure Stakes; Qurbaan, who will be making his 5-year-old and U.S. debut in this spot; Forge; and Synchrony. Synchrony is also entered in Saturday’s Red Bank Stakes at Monmouth and would run there if it stays on the turf and the ground isn’t too soft.
