Dream Passage seeks to rebound in starter allowance

ELMONT, N.Y. – Dream Passage heads what figures to be a five-horse field in Thursday’s $55,000 starter-allowance feature going 1 1/16 miles over Belmont Park’s Widener turf course.
Dream Passage, trained by Brad Cox, won two allowance races here during the spring meet, albeit both were over yielding turf. The Belmont courses have been firm for the last two weeks.
Dream Passage ran three times at Saratoga with two seconds and a fifth.
“Her last race was a throw out,” Cox said. “She never got an opportunity to run at any point in the race. This is the same condition. She was heavily favored last time. Hopefully, we’ll get a good clean run and she’ll be there at the end.”
Cox also has Out of Trouble entered in this spot. Last out, she finished third to War Canoe, who came back to run a solid second in Sunday’s John Hettinger Stakes.
Also entered to run on turf are Proud O’Paddy, Tanya’s Gem, and Rosebudy’s Hope.
