Dream Bigger draws off for maiden score in New York Breeders' Futurity

Dream Bigger entered the $204,703 New York Breeders’ Futurity, the richest race of the season at Finger Lakes, a maiden. He did not exit that way, rolling to a 10 3/4-length victory in Monday’s main event at the Farmington, N.Y., track.
Dream Bigger ($3.80), who had Jose Ortiz in the irons as he shipped in for trainer Rudy Rodriguez, finished the six furlongs in 1:11.01. The multiple stakes winning-filly My Italian Rabbi was a clear second, with Mission Wrapitup another four lengths back in third.
This was the first win in three career starts for Dream Bigger, who had proved his quality by earning flashy Beyer Speed Figures in two maiden special weight outings on the New York Racing Association circuit. The colt posted an 81 when second in debut to stakes-bound Tiz the Law on Aug. 8 at Saratoga. He then earned a 77 when finishing second by three-quarters of a length in a maiden special weight on Sept. 15 at Belmont.
One race prior to the Futurity, Baby Boss cruised to a five-length victory in the $50,009 Arctic Queen Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares. Baby Boss ($5.90) had Luis Colon aboard for trainer Jeremiah Englehart as she ran the six furlongs in 1:10.65.
