Dream About romps in Mazarine BC

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Favored Dream About led all the way under Patrick Husbands to take Saturday's $268,250 Mazarine Breeders' Cup Stakes by 8 1/4 lengths at Woodbine.

Dream About set uncontested fractions of 23.99 and 48.29 seconds in the 1 1/16-mile race for 2-year-old fillies. She opened up a 3 1/2-length lead after three-quarters of a mile in 1:12.77, before coasting home on top to complete the distance in 1:47.54.

America America, who was making her third Woodbine start in three weeks, finished second, 8 1/4 lengths ahead of Brush With Destiny. La Grande Mamma and Do You Love It rounded out the order of finish.

"She ran a fantastic race," said Husbands. "She left there running, and didn't want to relax [early], so I gave her her head. She relaxed down the backside and had her ears pricked all the way."

Dream About, trained by Josie Carroll, returned $3.10 in the Grade 2 race. She earned $160,950 for Arosa Farm, who paid $270,000 for her at a Florida 2-year-old sale in June.
