Drain the Clock, trained by Joseph, has raced just once since late August, winning a Dec. 10 allowance at Gulfstream by a half-length as a 2-5 favorite over Gatsby, one of his expected opponents Saturday. Gatsby went on to win the Jan. 15 Sunshine Sprint for Florida-breds.
◗ Letruska, honored last week with the Eclipse Award as the top filly-mare dirt runner of 2021, continues on a steady work pattern at Palm Meadows for trainer Fausto Gutierrez ahead of her scheduled 6-year-old debut Feb. 26 at Gulfstream in the Grade 3 Royal Delta at 1 1/16 miles. Letruska had her fourth work since getting a short break, breezing a bullet five furlongs in 59.20 seconds Feb. 9.
