Dover: Wiggle It Jiggleit wins the Preferred Open Pace
Wiggle It Jiggleit gave his driver Montrell Teague a great birthday gift, a victory on Thursday night at Dover Downs.
Wiggle It Jiggleit left alertly and yielded to Larry Karr at the quarter pole. Larry Karr and driver Mike Cole set fractions of 27, 55 3/5 and 1:23 2/5 with Wiggle It Jiggleit in the pocket.
Nearing the three-quarter pole, Teague boldly pulled the pocket, which brought back flashbacks of the champs greatest victories, and won by 1 1/2 lengths in a time of 1:51.
Finishing second was a game Slick Tony driven by Ross Wolfenden for trainer George Leager. Bo Mach and driver Corey Callahan for trainer Dylan Davis picked up the show position.
It was a festive winner's circle reunion for trainer Clyde Francis, owners George Teague Jr Inc. and Teague Racing Partnership.
Wiggle It Jiggleit ($7.60) expressed his gratitude in the winner’s circle with his customary rearing up on his hind legs. It was his first win since 2016.
