Dover: 11 entered for Progress Pace elimination

Eleven horses have been entered for the Progress Pace elimination race at Dover Downs on Wednesday. November 18.

Eight horses will place their noses on the gate and three will line up in trailing position from the second tier. The elimination purse is $35,000. The top eight finishers in the elimination advance to the final.

Trainer Ron Burke’s Cattlewash, who won the Matron Stake for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers, has been installed as the 5/2 race favorite. Trainer Tony Alagna has three starters including Capt Midnight, Captain Kirk and the Little Brown Jug winner Captain Barbossa.

The owners of No Lou Zing and Tattoo Artist supplemented at a cost of $25,000 each.

The Progress Pace final will carry a purse of $325,000 and will be raced on the following Wednesday November 25.
