Doutrich replaces Brent

Tom “Bomber” Doutrich has been named racing secretary for the Bay Meadows meeting which begins Friday.

Doutrich, who had been the agent for jockeys Ron Warren Jr. and Francisco Duran, will replace Greg Brent in what Bay Meadows President F. Jack Liebau termed a “reshuffling.”

Brent had served as the racing secretary at Golden Gate Fields and Bay Meadows since November 2000 and also served as the racing secretary for the northern California fair circuit. He will continue to serve as a racing official at Bay Meadows and Golden Gate Fields and retains his position as racing secretary on the fair circuit.

Doutrich, 40, a native of Seattle, has been involved in racing for more than 20 years and was a jockey in 1981-82. He has been an agent for the past 15 years, including nine with Warren, who surpassed the 3,000-victory total this year.

Former trainer Fordell Fierce will take over Warren’s book, while John Moresco will work for Duran.
