ALTOONA, Iowa - Don'ttalktome relished the Prairie Meadows slop Friday night crushing her opposition by 12 lengths in the $50,000 Goldfinch Stakes. After stalking Lorettine's pace, Don'ttalktome , a 3-year-old filly by Cactus Ridge, produced a breathtaking display when roused and then stopped the clock in a quick 1:09.53 for six furlongs. Trained by Judi Hicklin, Don'ttalktome was making just her third lifetime start and her stakes debut. Jockey Terry Thompson, winner of the riding title at the recently completed Oaklawn Park meet, never had to raise his whip on Don'ttalktome , who made her first two career starts in Florida for her owners, World Thoroughbreds Racing Inc. The Goldfinch was Thompson's fourth win on this rainy Iowa night. Stroll By, winner of Fonner Park's recent Pepsi Stakes, rallied under replacement pilot Glenn Corbett's heavy drive to garner the place spot by a nose. Lorettine tired from her early exertions and finished third. Fellow Chicago-based shipper Lady of Greatness disdained the going and failed to fire. The field was reduced to four following the defections of the Robert Gorham-trained pair Moon Charmer and Fleets Meow. They made the trek here but both came up with minor illnesses on Friday morning.
