Dontmesswithkitten takes closing-day Harbour View

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Dontmesswithkitten came from a stalking position to upset heavily favored Del Rio Harbor in the $35,000 Harbour View at Hastings on Sunday. The 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up was the featured race on the last day of the 2015 meet.

With Jeff Burningham aboard, Dontmesswithkitten ($22.10) tracked Del Rio Harbor for the first quarter-mile and then eased into a stalking position when Remembertobreathe rushed up along the inside to contest the early pace. Del Rio Harbor disposed of Remembertobreathe, held a length advantage heading into the stretch, and couldn’t hold off Dontmesswithkitten, who wore him down in the final sixteenth. The winning margin was a half-length. El Capone rallied from last to finish third.

Trained by Cindy Krasner, Dontmesswithkitten posted a final time of 1:44.46 over a fast track.
