Don't Get Mad relocating to Elite Thoroughbreds in Louisiana

Spendthrift Farm stallion Don’t Get Mad will relocate to Elite Thoroughbreds in Folsom, La., in 2011, the Louisiana farm has announced.

From two racing-age crops, Don’t Get Mad’s best runner to date, by earnings, is Louisiana Futurity winner Populist Politics, a son of the Souvenir Copy mare Cedar Summer. He earned $88,095 as a juvenile in 2010.

Don’t Get Mad, advertised most recently at Spendthrift with a $3,000 stud fee, will stand at Elite Thoroughbreds for $2,000.

Don’t Get Mad won the Grade 2 Indiana Derby and Grade 3 Northern Dancer Breeders’ Cup Stakes in 2005 as the highlights of his racing career. A son of the A.P. Indy horse Stephen Got Even and the Grade 3-placed Jolie’s Halo mare Class on Class, he earned $793,835 from five wins, a second, and a third in 13 career starts. He is a half-brother to stakes winner Barkley Sound.
