Trained by Dale Desruisseaux, Dixie Law was the third of four winners on the card for jockey Rafael Hernandez. “She broke horribly, to the right, but in hindsight, how fast they were going might have played out in her favor,” Desruisseaux said. “She was able to settle and get into a nice rhythm. Luckily, they came back to her.” Dixie Law covered the distance over firm ground in 1:44.60. The daughter of Tiz the Law earned $150,000 for owner-breeder Garland Williamson, who races under the Hillsbrook Farms moniker. “We knew she was a nice filly - we really did,” Williamson said. “To have a horse like this and win a race like this, it is extra special. That’s what keeps people in the horse business. I’ve been in it a long time.” *** Saragota shipper Cy Fair was an impressive winner over males in Sunday’s $184,450 Algonquin Stakes for 2-year-olds, with Sahin Civai riding for trainer George Weaver.
