Distorted Humor colt puts up fastest furlong on day 2 of OBS June breeze show
A colt by Distorted Humor breezed the day's fastest furlong as the under-tack preview for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age continued with its second of five sessions on Thursday.
The colt breezed his furlong in 9 4/5 seconds on the Ocala Training Center's all-weather Safetrack surface. That tied for the best work of the under-tack show overall thus far, matching a City Zip filly who also worked in 9 4/5 seconds on Wednesday.
The colt, who is consigned by de Meric Sales, as agent, is out of the unraced Forestry mare Driven. She is the dam of four winners from five starters, including multiple stakes-placed Glamoride. Driven is a half-sister to stakes winner Out For A Spin, who is by Distorted Humor, as well as Grade 3-placed Wise Action and stakes producer We There Yet. It is the family of Grade 1 winner Home At Last.
A pair of juveniles, a filly by Adios Charlie and a filly by Shakin It Up, each worked a quarter mile in 20 4/5 seconds for the session's fastest time at the distance. They are tied for the fastest quarter overall at the preview show, as a colt by Daredevil breezed in 20 3/5 seconds on Wednesday.
